CS8 Predictions-Week 4

You're right, Rat. You're right. It can't all be blamed on youth. And yes, there will be runners, you're correct about that also. As for 4-5 teams getting in, it really doesn't matter. Waste of time. Do you remember 1998? I'm having flashbacks.........

All.... Yes sir I went to all nine of those games because you support them regardless (even for a half lol) when all of the faithfull that normaly show up bailed after a few games. I will never forget that stud RB for the Crimsons in 98 pounded SHG and yapped and did a little dance in the end zone after scoring (again) and I almost came out of my seat. Props to Coach Stuart for sitting him down and not allowing him to play for the rest of the game. Ratsy P.S. Week seven has now become a must win....

Finals
Jacksonville 76 Lanphier 14.

Springfield 51 Southeast 24.

QND 37 SHG 7. Not shocked that QND won but am at the margin of their victory. QND is setting themselves up for a deep run in the 2A playoffs. Really believed the Cyclones personnel changes made last week were setting them up for success.

MacArthur 55 Eisenhower 12.

U High 52 Lincoln 0.

Chatham 45 Rochester 17. The Titans dominated from the start and in all aspects. Rochester's Defense, which was a bright spot through three games, got no pressure on Knoedler and gave up multiple deep pass plays. Knoedler's accuracy on "jump ball" throws to his 6'7" WR was very impressive. The Rocket Defense got two stops all night, one at the end of the game when Chatham was running out the clock. Really no positives on the Rocket side and another QB lost to injuries. Eli Carlson, who is also a starting LB/DB, was hurt in the 2nd quarter and on crutches on the sidelines afterwards. Lots of corrective action needed before next week when Rochester faces another good passing attack in U High. Finally, Chatham won this impressively without star WR Blake Lehnen who did not dress.
Sets up a good one at Memorial next week.

QND @ SHS for the west!

All.... Not as painful as the two runners coming week 8 and 9. And I'm not talking about the Solons. Lol... . Ratsy
To whom are you speaking of? Rochester against or Chatham against SHG/SHS? QND against Lincoln/U-High? Glenwood has faced Bonne Terre with a old school power runner. Rochester will get things fixed one way or another... THIS WEEK.

I'm glad not all catholics get as butt hurt as you when their teams get whacked and wrecked!!! My MtC buddies deal with any loses, not that there are many of those!
All.... Now "Coach" 🙄 don't get mad. Shouldn't your time be better spent trying ( but again) to make a salient point with Colin on defining RPO. Have a good afternoon and pleasant evening. Ratsy

What an odd prospect that Week 9, instead of being a conference championship contest, could instead be both teams fighting to be playoff eligible. This timeline is nuts!

Week 5 Matchups
Chatham (3-1) at MacArthur (2-2). Don't think the Generals win for a second year in a row.

Eisenhower (0-4) at Lincoln (2-2). Lincoln heavily favored but this could be their last win as they end w/4 tough opponents.

U High (3-1) at Rochester (2-2). Could be a tipping point game for the Rockets season. Injuries have piled up and it's not easy for any team to be successful when you're playing QB3 by Week 4. Having said that, by Week 5 problem areas are not as fixable as they are earlier. Instead, they tend to continue to be on display throughout the rest of the season. The Chatham game film should encourage the Pioneers to throw the ball early and often.

Southeast (0-4) at Jacksonville (3-1). Jacksonville should get its 4th win.

QND (3-1) at Springfield (4-0). QND's 1st road game of the season, and they need to avoid a letdown after their big victory over SHG. Springfield has been impressive so far and is the last unbeaten team in the CS8.

Lanphier (0-4) at SHG (2-2). Should be an early SHG running clock.

Watch for the fr3eshman QWB to make an appearance. He is better than all of the others.

There are 3-4 Freshman skill players who could possibly get some varsity time if things continue the way they went last night. My concern is that they'd really be thrown in the deep end of the pool if the O-Line play doesn't improve. And I don't see any of the younger/reserve O-Lineman being able to replace the current starters.

Well that's good. I don't want to be on the minds of a town of people with an inferiority complex.
Yikes... From our view here, Rochester is the new Sisters of the Poor in the CS8 this season. Slumming it down there out of view with Lincoln and Mac. May the Lord have mercy on your pathetic, and clearly weaker, souls. I'd suggest you leave those in position to make the playoffs out of your concern. Hopefully there's a new weight room in the stadium upgrade plan...

45-17... QB3... catch it all next week on Rochester Night Lights...

P.S. You and your deceased friend Icky Audiolization told me the CS8 was tough? QND would get mopped? Well, we're here, at the top... where you is, Rochester*?

All..... Roamin' the Party House was the real deal. What the new owner did when he built what I thought was a garage next to it on the inside was pretty cool. 100 % set up on the inside with counters and sinks and prep and serve area. Watched the boys (always looking for pointers for my little pre game soiree) cut fish for the massive fryers and talking football was fun. Also heard the house that's in a bit of rough shape might be in store for a rehab .

Met a gent at the Scoreboard who was involved years back in running the tailgate. Told me a lively story how he and his buds made for a better term a traveling toilet that they would bring to the tailgate. If I recall correctly at the time the then owners of the house didn't want men to use the toilet in the house. Understandable if you get feeling pretty good from hops and barley ones aim can get shakey in front of the toilet.

Other then then the game and getting stung on on my finger swatting at and actally catching a bee I had a good time. Raiders controlled the Cyclones offensive line blowing past them regardless of what plays were called and the Cycs defense didn't come to play. That second part will get corrected easily the first which has been a problem since day one which I thought finally was fixed isn't....

QND has a chance for a run out but it's not a done deal quite yet. Although the other rb did fine getting Hun back quickly wil be important. Have you heard if he will be out? First game out of town for QND this year and they are the favorite in this match. Need to be ready. Weather at the moment suggests rain all day and in the evening as well. Hold on to the ball.

It will be interesting to see how deep a run your team will make in 2A. I would expect at the very least a couple of postseason wins and if that occurs the waiver goes away and it's back into 4A for the new two year enrollment cycle starting in 2025. Now is the time to strike.... Ratsy

All.... Stop embarrassing yourself carpetbagger. Drinking that "hard" stuff (pinois grigio lol) for courage on a Saturday evening craving attention on a forum football board from the Catholic contingent. There I have done you a favor allowing self realization and a look inward. The only one you will get from the rodent. Eventually it might allow you to move from the childrens table up to the adult one by bringing substance instead of blather to your posts. Doubtful but you can hope. (lol) Ratsy

All.... Interesting article in Springfield Journal Register concerning the Chatham/Rochester game. I'm not familiar with the correspondent that wrote it but the header is as follows. Titan-sized statement: Lopsided win has Glenwood eying state

Yes it was a punishing dominating performance but in the article quoting the Titan qb he talks about state and November 30th. Kids wil be kids I suppose. Coach Hay goes a different calmer avenue with what he says. I have never been a big locker room material person. Not that they need it but if I'm Coach Sunkett I'm going to buy todays SJR paper and save it. Not sure if this Titan squad is a better then the 2019 team but both Chatham and East St. Louis will once again be in the postseason 6A south bracket . Ratsy

If you met a guy named Duane at the Scoreboard, he's really good buds with my dad. Duane V built that garage. The new guys dont know how primitive that lot used to be. My father, Duane, and many others from the old gaurd still help a lot and do plenty of work for and with the football committee. The new batch, who are all great folks, they just aren't as fun. Lol
Glad you had a safe trip, glad the result for the one and only time went our way. We'll be back to expecting running clocks next season as your young team will mature nicely.

If it were 2006 again you could expect 3 or 4 coach busses full of Grey Goosed Raider fans ready for an away day. The football committee doesn't spend the dollars on the fan busses like they used to. Turf is due for an upgrade in a few years, likely where the money is going now. Lot different than it used to be.

I can't compare the 2019 vs 2024 East St Louis teams but can weigh in on the two Titan teams. The '24 team has an advantage in their passing game and possibly on special teams. The '19 team had a much stronger running attack and was bigger and more physical on both sides of the ball. Apologies to cornerrat who has heard me opine on this before, the '19 Titan team was right there with any SHG or Rochester championship team and still trailed East St Louis 28-0 at half before losing 50-28.

All.... Estl last two games are with Edwardsville and IMG. The game with the Tigers is a home one and I don't forsee much of a problem with that one. So at worst they finish the regular season at 8-1 as will the Titans. An edge on playoff points to Estl. But it would be fun to watch a Saturday game in Chatham with these two. Titans don't want a return to the House of Pain. We will see. Ratsy

If The o-line of ESL do a better job of blocking and the defense wrap up and do a better job of tackling the IMG game will be closer then people think and maybe even a ESL victory. Will see but better th those those things mentioned will have to happen

Kankakee may provide some resistance if they stay in 6A this postseason. That is, if they meet Glenwood. I do not see Kankakee beating East St. Louis.

It looks like even the blindest of squirrels will find an acorn. But lets' take a deeper dive.

Your 3-1 Raiders, a surprise to us all, have an average opponent ranking of 177 vs the Rochester opponent average of 123. Point being, the Rocket schedule has been tougher.

Next, you have the paper 4-0 Springfield ahead of you. A team which will likely go 4-5, 5-4 if you choke.

The rest of your comment, I cannot understand because I don't speak Section 8.

Having seen both the ESL v LA game and the Chatham v Rochester game, this will be running clock on either field by the Flyers.

May the Lord have mercy on your pathetic, and clearly weaker, souls.

The word "baal" means "lord" in several ancient Levantine Semitic languages, and was used as a title for the Canaanite-Phoenician god Baal. The term was also used to refer to other deities and human rulers!

Just wanted to point that out... I do the same to my catholic buds from Mighty Mt Carmel but they know me...

Ciagaros, supporting a dominant perennial program in the state... Defending himself against QND with SOS. You truly are the dullest tool in the shed. Lest we also account for the heavier weighted key here... QND is a 2A program. But I'm cool with you doubling down on the victim cards. That "fan page" on FB is a lot more interesting when you're all deep in the feels.

You failed to mention your contest with U-High. Another big one this week. Best of luck!

You're likely a two score dog to a basketball school this week. Kindly get back to your seat at the kids table.
Interesting that you're 2A. Didn't we used to utilize your squad as a stepping stone in the 4A playoffs? Is the economy that bad in the Dump Next to Hannibal that people can't afford $2300 (with a max assistance award) to $4200 (minimum assistance award).

Stay mad in your inferiority complex.
