Bears

What you just said is the most generic generalization that every team would want in a HC. If you need that to be said publicly to make you feel better I don't know what to tell you.

Again, how has this been a clown show? What have they done so far that is more fooked up then what any other team currently looking for a coach is doing?

I mean, I do love a good argument, but I keep at it because no one is answering the questions I throw out. Still waiting for someone to tell me the appropriate amount of interviews since apparently this has been too many or how this has been a shit show when it's been the same process every other team has followed so far. Lay out for me the HC interview process you would approve of and I'll let it go.
"What's 2+2?"

"It's 4."

"Well we aren't talking about 5? Why is nobody talking about 5?"

"Well you asked the other question, and we answered that question."

"Why isn't anyone answering my questions?"

I'm done with this trolling.

Not trolling, but keep avoiding the original question. You're upset with how the HC search has gone thus far, ok fine, outline the process you would be ok with to this point.

When it's all said and done I may agree with you and say it was a shit show, but at this point they're in line with every other team looking for a HC.

Now it’s reported we want to interview Eddie George. Is he even involved in football anymore?

Lions loss might have just saved us from further ridicule. Just hire Johnson and end this.

He's a college HC.

Who exactly is ridiculing the Bears other than a few posters here? Step back off the cliff, no other team has made a hire so what are the Bears doing wrong?

Watching Washington thoproughly beat the heavily favored Lions brought me back almost 40 years to January of both 1987 and 1988. Joe Gibbs out-coached the pants off Ditka twice - on Ditka's home field.

Well done. This is how exchanges with 4A tend to play out. At some point one just needs to let it go, because he is incapable of doing so.

All I'm asking for is an answer to what seemingly should be an easy question. He said the coaching search has been mishandled and that they've interviewed too many people. I asked what the correct number is and what the process should look like to satisfy him and he can't answer that.

I answered it multiple times. You just lack the comprehension, apparently.

I doubt Johnson is coming to the Bears. Most likely he is going to the Raiders or staying in Detroit. Just my opinion. This is the luck of the Bears brass.

Breaking news the Bears have reached out to me about interviewing for the Head Coaching position, apparently they like work I’ve done with my middle school team and want to leave no stone unturned while trying to find the best possible coach.
I thought you’d say the breaking news is the Bears have been pardoned.

Tennessee State coach Eddie George interviewing today. IMO this is to satisfy the Rooney rule. I love Eddie George but IMO he is not ready to coach an NFL team. Watch the Bears hire him! 🤣

I’d say 4-8 candidates is the right number.

The way the bears are doing it comes off as if they’ve never thought about the head coaching position before and everybody is just throwing names at a wall. Let’s interview all of them and then pick the best one.

“Hey Ryan, maybe Mike Tomlin would be interested in coming to Chicago. Go ahead and call them up and see if they’re interested in a trade.”

They have zero self awareness of how this looks. There was also the pipe dream of Kyle Shanahan being a candidate tossed around this year.

But hey….they're leaving no rock unturned. 🥸

To me it looks good. They're trying something different. The coaching searches in the past have been miserable, at least this time they're going about it a different way this time around. It also shows that they're willing to spend for a HC. Tomlin will make around $16 mil next year and if the Bears would have made a trade they would have paid him that, meaning they're willing to open the checkbook for a coach.

They were also willing to reach out and go after a coach who has never had a losing record.

They reached out on a coach that has zero chance he’s leaving. Everyone knows that except the Bears.

Legit Candidate’s

Mike McCarthy

Ben Johnson

Pete Carroll

Kliff Kingsbury

Good coaches but not legit Candidate’s

Brian Flores

Ron Rivera

Aaron Glenn

Todd Monken

Arthur Smith

Joe Brady

Wasting People’s Time Candidate’s

Eddie George

Adam Stenavich (Packers OC)

Thomas Brown

Mike Kafka

Drew Petzing (Cardinals OC)

David Shaw

Anthony Weaver (Dolphin’s DC)

I’d love to see the Bears hire Kingsbury as HC and have Poles explain why they chose Shane Waldron over him for OC last year.
I think Monken is a very legit candidate. Not a slam dunk that they get Johnson so if they don’t I think Monken would be a great candidate.

Curious as to why you think Kingsbury is a legit candidate when the Bears haven't interviewed him yet and he came out and said he's not doing any interviews until Washington is out of the playoffs.

In the past 56 years the Steelers have had 3 head coaches . In the past YEAR the Bears have had three, including their next hire. Mike Tomlin, like the rest of the NFL, has to see the joke the Bears organization has become

Honest question Lake. Why do you think Monken would be a great candidate. I asked 4A and didn’t see his response. Maybe I am missing something.
He has performed as an OC and HC - OC at a very high level with great consistency. OC for the Ravens - lots of folks believe he’s the reason Lamar has taken the next step in his game. Did so at Georgia too before Baltimore.

Local guy never hurts and obviously not a reason to hire. Every once in a while you find a gem. If they don’t get Johnson I’d be perfectly happy with Monk.
