Bears

Are you new to how the media works? If you listen to radio interviews all you're ever going to hear is canned responses and and puff pieces. Especially with beat reporters, they toss up softball questions and get the answers they expect for their headlines or sound bites. Beat writers and local media have to work with these people on a regular basis so they're not going to grill them or ask questions that will make them sweat because it will damage their working relationship.
I was reading sports writers' columns before you were crapping in your diapers little boy. Did you read the Sun Times' beat writers columns yesterday? I would bet you didn't. None of the three were "puff pieces." Not Rick Morrissey stuff but certainly not puff either.

You don't need to explain how things work. I am well aware. I understand these guys have to see each other every day. If you read my post correctly I was commenting on the ridiculous answer, not the question. As a matter of fact I didn't even mention anything about the questioning. You made this up on your own.

In the future at least try to respond to another person's post by addressing what that person actually said instead of going on one of your tangents.

Touch a nerve, did I?

The two go hand in hand, the answers given are a direct result of the questions asked and spoon fed questions are going to get the answers you made comments about.

So keep saying I'm going off on a tangent as your only defense and stop being so cranky just because you're closer to being back in diapers than I am.

No not at all. You aren't good enough to touch any nerve with me. It is like a lot of guys here have said. Sometimes you argue just to argue. Your little ego won't let you accept when you're wrong and you are wrong a lot.

Again, I was talking about the answer, not the question. No. Not all questions are answered in the same way. I would have thought you understand that. But, I was wrong about that. Be that as it may, I still find it ridiculous that guys are being praised for working hard when working hard should be expected. I would have thought you understood that too. Apparently not.

My youngest son has been calling me "old man" for over 20 years. I just laugh at it and it rolls off my back. I don't get mad at him because it isn't malicious. I just tell him, "yeah, but I can still whip your ass." Then he just looks at me because we both know that is as far from the truth as it can be. He's built like a brick house. Good thing he's mild mannered.

As far as being older I don't have a problem with growing old. It is better than the alternative and I do want to keep my quality of life. When I look around, at my age I am very lucky to be in good enough health to work out twice a day and walk every day as well. Don't just assume and take for granted you'll reach my age and beyond. Tomorrow is promised to no man. I have seen death in a baby and I have seen death in a 91 year old man and many in-between. Our clocks are not all set the same way with the same expiration.

I have really tried to make a conscious effort to tune down going after MC63 because of his age. It's not funny and I regret being a part of that. That is one of the things no one here will see from me in 2025.

There we go. Vrabel is off the board. Should have gone after him immediately like I said instead of dragging feet.

Think of when the Bears fired Eberflus and then the Patriots fired Mayo. That's a lot of time to get your ducks in a row, but they wanted to wait to interview their 30 candidates with their 80 people on the virtual call.

I’m really hoping we already have our guy, but need to wait until his season ends to make it all official.

Please Bears don’t F this up.

Who would that be? My mind is either Pete Carrol or Ben Johnson. Old with Experience or young with no HC experience. I like Carrol winning record with a SB and think he is young for his age but he is still not going to be a long term coach, maybe 2-3 years. Ben Johnson has no HC experience and he might be great but he might be bad? Crap shoot! I am not unhappy we didn’t get Vrabel, his record as a coach was a little over 500 at Tennessee, not anything to write home about, plus since they fired Mayo it’s a no brainer he was going to the Patriots. I am not sure who they are going to pick but if they F this up heads will fly. Poles and Warren. They better get it right. Just saying they are both on the hot seat if they mess this up. The Bears need new ownership but 102 year old Virginia isn’t going anywhere god bless her.😂

Can't agree. There is no way Vrabel was going to come here with New England wanting him as well. Far too many good connections and memories for him to consider Chicago. But he did go through the interview process here just in case.

Eberflus was fired on Nov 29. Jerod Mayo was fired 8 days ago...

Vrabel was employed by an nfl team (consultant Browns) during regular season, couldn’t contact him until Dec 30.
So we could have interviewed him previous to the Patriots firing Mayo. Instead, we waited until January 8th. Should have jumped on it ASAP.

All done now though. Hopefully the Bears luck into a good choice because God knows they won't choose correctly based on competence.

Just clarifying that they couldn't until 12/30.
I kinda find it hard to believe he didn't have an idea of Mayo being fired..

Mike McCathy's scheme would be terrible for Caleb's development. His offense is too outdated to scheme up against the new styles of defense. Ben Johnson or Kingsbury. Both will help Caleb and understand how to develop an offensive scheme. Get a veteran DC and SP-T Coord. and BJ's lack of experience is a non-factor.
Honestly, it doesn't matter if they don't make significant improvements along the O-Line.

Yeah, you're right. The Bears shouldn't go out and get a guy who has won 174 NFL games including 43 in the last four years, worked with Joe Montana, helped Brett Favre and developed Aaron Rodgers and Dak Prescott. What a horrible mistake that would be. Hopefully the Bears aren't thinking this way.

I have a feeling he will be the Bears next HC...
Well, then the Bears won't be paying him minimum wage. And they had better get him an O-line to help Williams. I just wonder what kind of control or power McCarthy would have. As has been said. The Bears aren't just interviewing coaches. The coaches are interviewing the Bears.

43 wins in the last 4 years, but only 1-3 in the playoffs. Also, throwing Dak Prescott out there isn't the brag you think it is.

Before the 2017 draft I posted that the Bears just needed to blow up the roster and begin rebuilding and in 5 years there was a shot things would be moving in the right direction. I also said that I thought Mahomes would be a great QB to fit in the NFL and better than the plan to throw everything at Trubisky. Everyone laughed and said you’re a pats fan you just want the Bears to be bad.

I never want any team to be bad because it just leads to watching garbage games. Well 8 seasons later and still no real improvement. The O and D lines need to be rebuilt and the D backs could use an influx of talent. Be patient Bears fans, I’m hoping the Pats blow things up and rebuild now rather than trying to retool as the Bears did. I’ll be pulling for all of our teams!
