Bears

I think the number 1 issue was the offensive line, particularly the IOL. Nate Davis, Lucas Patrick, and Cody Whitehair played horribly and the Packers Defense generated 35 pressures, second most in week 1 only behind the Cowboys. I think Poles really need to target fixing the Offensive line next.
The second issue was play calling, Getsy kept running screens right into a formidable Packers CB group despite a regression in success over the course of the game. I get why he did it, Getsy knew the offensive line was terrible but after multiple 3 and outs, you'd think they would start taking deep shots or plays over the middle, you know, the plays Fields looked good doing late last season. Not to mention the weakest point of this Packers D was the safety tandem and they were rarely put to the test. Also, only two targets for DJ Moore is disgusting, gotta manufacture touches for him so he can excel. I think the Bears should seriously consider moving on from Eberflus and go out and get like Benjamin Johnson, the Lions OC as their head coach.
I think Fields is still the guy, he wasn't perfect but most of the egregious mistakes came from poor offensive line play and trying to force things super late into the game when the chips were way down. If the Bears draft another QB like Williamson or Sanders they'll also struggle with this poor pass protection. Love looked good because the Bears could only generate 2 pressures against probably the 2nd or 3rd best offensive line in the NFL. Continue to build around Fields and I think he'll be the guy. Also, cut Claypool, The dude clearly does not care, and bring in a WR who would kill for the opportunity to run blocking routes in the NFL.

So over the years I wanted and watched other teams get the following QBs.
Joe Burrow
Trevor Lawrence
Mac Jones Bears chose Fields
Bryce Young Bears traded away top pick.
And now
Caleb Williams

I agree the Bears don’t ever pick the best talent they pick for as much as they can get by trading down for more average players. This is nothing new.

Interesting stat: of Fields' 37 passing attempts, only 4 (not a misprint, "four") travelled more than 10 yards in the air past the LOS.

Wow!!! Just brutal!!!
Where was Mooney, where was Kmet, Moore? O my! We know where Chase was! LMAO. To me the Bears didn’t look like they were ready to play. The Packers did! Who’s fault is it when the team looks like the just woke up from a night out?

So Glad Skoronski didn’t go from one crap program to another. The Bears did him a favor.
Embarrassing they are. Play calling was JV football stuff. Their passion for mediocrity is impressive
According to PFF-Skoronski graded out 7th of all offensive linemen in the league.

You aren't surprised are you? This is what I was saying during preseason. All the yards credited to Fields were YAC yards.

The main problem is Pace was giving away all our draft picks for average players and many times for nothing.

Pace hurt all our positions on the Bears by giving away draft picks like Halloween candy.
The Bears had 10 draft picks last draft. The most was 12

I was talking about draft picks prior to the last draft but did know they had a ton of picks in the last draft. Still not enough to address a pass rusher or replacing Eddie Jackson and Claypool.

Although we made two picks on the DL it still needs help.

They picked two offensive linemen the last two years and both were unfortunately hurt in the preseason.

Need to elevate R Johnson to RB1.

The Miami DB looks good and I really like him but would be better in another NFL team system.

Also if they took care of the OL in previous drafts we would have a possible game changer on the defensive side of the ball in Carter.

I was just watching the news, I never do but my wife took our doggie to the Vet. I turned on the TV and what do you know the Bears are wanting to make amends by saying they want to beat the Buc’s! Lol
No shit. The Buc’s suck! Okay now we’re supposed to be happy you want to beat the Buc’s. Players saying that wasn’t them out there against the Pack. Come on! I want to 🤮. Fields needs to grow a pair and act like a leader. They think winning a game against a shit team, Bradyless Buc’s is going to make me forget the beat down they took at home against the Rogerless Packers! 10 draft picks and some free agents signings, I was hoping this was going to be the one time the Bears might have a chance to right the ship. Boy was I wrong. Our team and organization are a laughing stock of the NFL.

They've lost 11 straight games (franchise record, yay!). Not sure it matters to worry about how good or bad any team they beat is. All the other teams are looking at the Bears thinking, "we can't lose to this team..."

Corey: Outside of a few seasons, the Bears have sucked for the past 30 years. This garbage is nothing new. This past Saturday the Sun Times had a pull out section about the rivalry between the Bears and Packers. In that article it was pointed out that the Bears were 81-56-6 against the Packers when Mike Ditka was fired. Counting this past Sunday's game, the Bears are now 95-106-6 against Green Bay. My math tells me the Bears have gone 14-50 against the Packers since the end of the 1992 season.

Mike Ditka was 15-5 against the Packers. No other coach since him has a winning record against GB. As a matter of fact, no coach is .500 against GB. This is all a person needs to know about this shit organization. I said before and I will say it again. Bears season ticket holders are a bunch of saps to be putting up with this garbage and the McCaskeys are laughing all the way to the bank.

I don’t think Fields has improved this year. I actually think he is playing worse. Time to cut bait and run. It’s his 3rd year, I am done with him. Never wanted him and now it’s in my book confirmed we’re wasting time with him as our franchise QB. Boy all those draft picks we traded down for really helped. The Buc’s are a crap team and we are even worse. Damn embarrassing.

How do you cut bait now? Offer a trade for draft picks?

It would be another rebuild because all parts of this team are broken

If so can, we finally build our lines first before the QB?

Like I said, cut #29 right now! I don't care if he's a rookie.

The crappy defense is working very hard towards mediocrity and #29 ruins it.

He's killing this team now. Put someone else out there.

We are still in a rebuild. I don’t see how we aren’t. Didn’t we just trade down to get our first O-lineman. How did that work out so far. You could put Fields behind the best line in the NFL and get the same result. We need to stop blaming every offensive line we have had, it’s easy to blame the line. The QB can help the line by seeing the field and getting rid of the damn ball faster.

It's hard to make that decision on Fields.

It's like you know a young baseball player has the talent to be a 5 tool player but then you release him.

I go by the 3 year plan. I see know improvement. Time to move on. I honestly can’t watch this anymore. It’s brutal. Time to change the channel. Too many needs on this team. 10 draft picks and we might be worse. That’s hard to do but somehow this management was able to fumble it again this year. Did you see where I said the Bucs suck. I mean they really are not good, they are also in rebuild mode. Some how they look better than the Bears.

Nothing like throwing a screen from your own end zone…smh

That may be the play that started the end of Justin Fields career with the Bears.

I finally figured it out!! I chose to not watch the game and had a wonderful weekend! I think every Bear fan should consider it.
That's been my plan for the White Sox. Haven't watch them since I went to a game in early August. When they are even remotely competitive, I watch as much as possible.

Easier to deal with the mess with football. Good, bad, or ugly, only investing a few hours a week to watch.

Speaking of good, bad, or ugly, Fields will start all season (if healthy). Bears need as much proof as possible to see if he's the future or not. I'd guess the only way that isn't the case is if Fields is completely awful, maybe Bagent plays more the last few weeks, as a tryout/gain experience.

Wifey's company had a company picnic scheduled for yesterday afternoon. But at 8:30 it was canceled due to the rain down here. Sure wish it wouldn't have rained.

The most Bears fan comment ever right here, yes please play the 3rd string undrafted D2 QB.
Although he did go to Iowa State, Brock Purdy was the last pick in the draft last year. That means no team other than the 49ers thought he was worth drafting at all. BTW, the 49ers won again yesterday. Yes, he is in a good system. But he plays smoothly and doesn't get rattled.

When a QB first steps onto the NFL practice field, no one, and I mean no one cares where he went to college or what he did. It's a new world.

How many undrafted QBs succeed in the NFL? Now do being undrafted and a rookie? Looking good in the preseason against guys who aren’t in the NFL is not the sane as a regular season game.
