He’s had some rough games and also was seemingly not part of the plan for some games. Been weird season for him.
DJ Moore has been brutal too since getting his money.
Kmet seems so out of character these past few weeks. Wonder what the deal is.
Don't feel bad. I did too and that was a total embarrassment. I wish the game was here and played at noon. That way I would have missed it because I was at my son's house and didn't see any noon window football. Then for some reason I just had the game and Red Zone on, forgetting I could have seen the whole Bills, Rams game. Whiffed on that completely.
After watching parts of the Bear-Vikings game what most impressed me, besides the Vikings, was US Bank All Weather Stadium. This was particularly impressive after watching the soap opera going on with the Bears, Arlington Heights and the City of Chicago. After decades of idiotic ideas, which include the rebuilding of Soldier Field, the Bears seem to be no further along in building an all weather stadium than they were when they moved from Wrigley Field in 1971. The Bears appear to be waiting for same governmental unit to shower them with money to build a stadium. Based on the recent history of both Soldier Field and Guaranteed Rate Field it ain't going to happen. Particularly for a franchise that is valued at 6.5 Billion and located in the 3rd largest media market in the US. The sale of the Bears can't come soon enough.
And from every account it is great and that is why I was cool with Warren coming on. But he is so self-absorbed that he is trying to salvage some Chicago based stadium that has no chance of passing, when the ultimate site is sitting 15 miles away in AH.
J Hood on ESPN 1000 made a great point today.....he said "the Bears are a year away from being a year away."
My expectations were very low for the Bears this season, they had no Oline going into the offseason and did nothing to fix it in the offseason. You can have the QB, RB, and WRs but without a line, you aren't going to win many games. The defense carried them early in the season but injuries and fatigue from being on the field, ended that success pretty early.
Anyone who thinks the team would be better after firing OC and HC must be taking crazy pills. I

The removal of the OC and HC wasn't going to make them good, but it was time for both those clowns to go.
I am going to admit something I am ashamed of. I actually picked the Bears to win that game. Just dumb on my part!
I am sorry. But if your expectations for this team were that low you sure as hell didn't say it before the season. Or, if you did, I didn't see it. I didn't see anyone anywhere saying they would win fewer games this year than last. Expectations, in general, were higher going into this year than last year.
Regarding expectations, I need to discipline myself to avoid pre-season blather and drivel about the Bears from the 2 major Chicago daily sports pages. I knew it's their job, but they provide the forum for all the over-the-top "coach-speak." They are so starved for content in the late summer, especially since the Sox and Cubs are stinking up the place by then, if a fly farts around Halas Hall, it's breaking news. Like the political coverage and predictions from the mainstream media - they are more likely to get it wrong than right.
You make some good points. I get the Sun Times for one reason. The sports section. As I have said many times, I wouldn't give a nickel for the news section and those articles. But some of the Times sports columnists are very skeptical people. But, even when the White Sox and Cubs are doing pretty well the Bears dominate those pages. Good or bad. I read a while back that all Chicago teams' winning percentages were under .500. That is awful.
As for the Trib, I have no use for that sports section. It's bad and so late in reporting. The news writers have also changed for the worse. As a result I stopped subscribing a few years ago.
I can't say I thought the Bears were going to be in the playoffs. As a matter of fact in this thread I said, many weeks ago, that this wasn't a playoff team. But honestly I did think they would win more games than last year and that isn't going to happen. They have regressed badly.

I was definitely skeptical about the o-line.
I was basically just hoping for progress. After some teaser nice performances early vs Carolina and Jax (admittedly terrible teams), they completely went into the tank. This was definitely a wasted season.
I got crucified on FB saying they’d win 5 games tops. Ofc as you guys well know I don’t know football

The Bears still have not recovered from the Hail Mary pass many games ago.
Which shows me there is no leadership in that room.

We were talking about the media and I am going to go off subject for a minute. But today is a very sad day for me. After today's "Your World with Neil Cavuto," news show, Mr. Cavuto is leaving Fox News after a 28 year run. His was the very first show I watched on that channel in around 2001. He was the first anchor hired by the network. His show and the other show he hosted on Fox Business called "Cavuto: Coast to Coast" were very good shows and he is a major reason I watch that channel. He also hosted a two hour show on Saturday mornings. I remember back when he had open heart surgery years ago and was off the air for a long time. I really missed him and was happy when he returned. He also has multiple sclerosis.
He is mostly a financial guy but did talk about a wide range of subjects which included politics, sports, etc. I thought he was very fair to both sides and that is something that is sorely missing in the media.
My second choice at Fox is Bret Baier for news and Charles Payne for financial news. But Cavuto is a very tough act to follow. Damn. 😔

Really, who wants to read or hear what these players think or feel. Do the job for which you are well-compensated, which should not include running your mouth. Winning talks while bullsh*t walks.
