Bears

I haven't heard anyone say something about what Eberfool may have been thinking. Someone may have brought this point up and I didn't hear or read it. During the last drive they decided to let the clock run down instead of trying to get a few more yards and move the FG attempt up. I have to wonder if maybe Eberfool trusted his kicking game more than his offense.

I don't think he can win either way. If they run a pass play and Williams throws a pick, or suppose he gets sacked for a 10 yard loss or more? Now you have a long FG to make. Suppose they run and the back gets hit and coughs up the football? There would be huge criticism if one of those scenarios occurred. The Bears don't have a good offense. But they do have a good kicking game, a very good kicker and a successful FG from that distance is very common in the league.

I really can't fault Eberflus on how the game ended. You send in your FG team and they are expected to execute. It wasn't like this was a 55 yard attempt. GB made a play and the Bears didn't.

He said that in his press conference and doubled down on it.
Of all his "questionable" coaching missteps I can at least find his logic. Many times I don't see his logic.
Yes, it is a relatively basic kick in this NFL but Santos doesn't have the huge leg that many in the league have now. He tops out at around 53 yards. With his "shorter" distance his kicks have a lower trajectory something GB coaches said postgame. Also, the D is givcing max effort on that last second FG block as opposed to midgame...Manely mentioned that point on post game.
I would have gone with another run play but I don't have my job on the line. At this point it almost seems like whatever he choses to do is the wrong choice lol.

Never said it was all on him, but at this is factual data, not just "oh the coaches suck".
It is beyond me how anyone can throw a rookie QB under the bus after 10 games. Especially when the guy gets no protection when passing. They just throw the guy in there with very little preseason playing time and expect a Rookie Of The Year performance and with some of the play calling? Yeah outside the new OC, the coaches DO suck. Especially the HC. BTW do you still think this is a playoff team?

Seems to be working out ok for Daniels and Nix. Hell even Maye has looked better in limited action on a terrible team.

Funny how everyone was ready to anoint him before he took a single snap, but when he's not good then we can't judge him based on only 10 games.
