Bears

Didn't realize I was in the presence of so many people who are fully capable of coaching at the NFL level. 🙄

So tell me, where was the disdain for the coaching staff the two weeks before the bye? It was crickets around here. Why does everyone only hate coaches when teams lose?
What are people supposed to do after the team loses so stupidly? Just say, "oh it's OK. Or nice try anyway." This is the NFL. Coaches and players make a lot of money...especially the players. They are paid to win, period. So, they need to be held accountable by the media and the fans who pay to see them play. Even if fans don't go to the games they are paying to watch.

Speaking of a couple weeks ago. I saw some some guys here making playoff talk. Crickets now. The Bears must win these next two games to have a shot at post season. Because if they don't, they aren't getting there.

Physical mistakes can get a team in trouble. But mental mistakes and losing focus will get you beat. Tyrique Stevenson is an example of a guy making a mental mistake and losing focus. But I am sure Eberflus will defend him. I have said it many times. Today's players are indeed bigger, stronger and physically faster than years past. But some of these guys today are mental midgets who commit incredibly stupid penalties and make ridiculous mental mistakes.

With all this said, teams are going to play bad games or make bad plays. It happens. But we seem to be complaining about the same things over and over again. That is what is so frustrating.

The Waldron/Eberflus decision about the hand-off to the OL is 100% indefensible. So is the decision not to take absolute ownership about the total folly surrounding that play call. I wonder if, behind closed doors with the team, these 2 coaches come clean with their players about admitting the mistake that was allowed to proceed. If not, major loss of respect for them would be a reasonable expectation from the guys. Talk about "losing the locker room."

Everyone is blaming Stevenson but if you look at the play from the end zone, Byard had the receiver right up until the ball was thrown. They he left coverage to jump for the ball. If he would have stayed in coverage he could have intercepted it

Stevenson’s job on the play was to box out the receiver who caught the ball. He didn’t bc he wasn’t paying attention.

Stop being logical, they don't like that here

Then why was byard guarding him up to the last moment
Eberflus said in his press conference today that Stevenson’s job on that play was to be behind the jump ball and box out whatever player was there.

He instead was late to the jump ball and decided to go after the ball and leave the back player alone to catch the tipped ball

. Find the view from the end zone behibd the play and you will see differently

So then why blame the coaches who are paid far less than the payers?
This is an idiotic statement to make. I included the coaches in my statement which you conveniently left out which took it out of context. That is a habit you have when arguing with everyone on the board...just to argue.

It was revealed that Stevenson was supposed to cover the guy behind the play in the end zone...who was Noah Brown. But Stevenson was too busy f-ing around looking at the fans to get back to his assignment.

Eberflus is in over his head as a head coach and should have been let go when they traded Fields. I am so sick and tired of this clown defending garbage like this and not calling guys out. Very undisciplined team and that starts with coaching.

Now it is the coach's responsibility to get this team ready for a pretty decent AZ team on the road. Won't be a hostile environment as many Bear fans will be there I assume.

No it wasn't. It was to yell at the Washington fans on the field of play during the play.
Just watched the ALL22 and he did the same thing the play before.

Also, Eberfuls is full of it. When asked about the second to last play, he said those yards were meaningless and he wouldn't do anything different. Well, the ALL22 showed him yelling at the DB's to come up and not give up the short yardage throw.

There are a few instances in which you give a team "free Yards" that is not one of them.

It never made sense that Poles kept Eberfool but fired his entire staff. Why keep him?

Corey?!...hell...I don'tknow.
That's the million dollar question. I said in a post after last season and I'll say it again.
We are absolutely stuck with this guy
And I agree. Now, when they fire Eberflus, Williams will follow the other QBs in the organization who had several different HCs and OCs. Wash, rinse, repeat.

And with no O line. Repeat.

GM Poles firing Eberflus would put his original hiring decision into a worsening light, so he needs to distance himself as much as possible, hoping this will be forgotten.

"When the Bears are sold, and new management installed, expect to see winning Bears teams. Until that time, be content with what you saw on the field today."

I said this 3 years ago in this thread and nothing has changed except the following:

1. It is transparent that Soldier Field is a non-starter. The State is not going to give money for a remodel and the Bears are using the threat of staying in Chicago as a negotiating ploy with Arlington Heights.

2. The Bears are going to have to work out something with Arlington Heights re the property taxes, once that happens and they have financing in place for a stadium, the Bears will go on the market.

They won't go on the market until Virgina passes.

Some morning show on ESPN was featuring a list of the worst plays in the NFL to date this season. In the #1 spot was the Hail Mary play and #4 was the OL fumble at the goal line. Embarrassing to say the least.

I am at the point that the Bears should change their colors to the Packers colors and see if our luck changes.

That’s why it makes no sense . You have a new QB coming in this year why not get a new head coach he could start fresh with. Instead we have a head coach that was on the hot seat and they keep him and watch his Tom foolery.

So the new Chicago Sports Network has Bears pre and post-game shows. Comcast/Infinity have not reached terms, so the whole channel was lost to subscribers on October 1st. The most recent bill, including service time after 10/1 does not feature any reduction to the "Regional Sports Fee," however. I am not surprised.

Better offensive gameplan this week, and Caleb looks locked in. Can't stand a penalty for being a quarter inch off the line, but illegal contact being allowed
