Bears

BS leverage call. Phantom calls on that and the Lewis false start to end the 1q

Agree, but that was a tough penalty. Very picky, if you ask me.
Bears are not getting any penalties. A few holding calls should have been called on AZ but nothing. Now Bears getting questionable calls against them. It’s going to be tough to win this game if our defense can’t stop the run.

LOL!! Last week's debacle followed by a simple running play with 12 seconds for a TD.

Fire eberflus after this game--win or lose.

Two devastating plays to end a game and half. Coaching? Or players lethargic because eberflus has lost them?

It's been a tough week for this "in-over-their-head" coaching staff. They are now being exposed. Last two years was expected to be bad.

Put some expectations on them, and they fail miserably. No adjustments made at halftime to stop the run. Outcoached or Bears coaches are clueless.

And lo' and behold, a "bend but don't break" moment that results in three points for Arizona and much-needed time taken off the clock. So predictable.

And another undisciplined penalty that fortunately didn't hurt the Bears.

Another 3 and out?

Playing a game of what if since this game is over (probably), who do you get to be the next head coach? Keep in mind that the Cowboys, Giants, Saints, Raiders, and Browns are all looking questionable as well

This game feels like Eberflus has lost the team.

Someone needs to get fired after this game…preferably Walden.

Had plans today, the game was on but wasn't focused on it. What I did see wasn't great. My question is for the members of this board, why do all of the players get a free pass? Almost zero comments about execution, just all on coaching.

Friends and family I was with criticized the coaches but blamed the players more for lack of execution, but everyone here lays it all on the coaches. Why? Why does Caleb's inaccuracy get a free pass when Fields didn't? Why do you comment about coaches not making adjustments but not defenders ability to make a tackle? Caleb holds the ball too long or can't just throw to the check down and it's all on the OL and not him.

Why do you all hold the Bears to such high expectations? Their last 2 championships were 1985 and 1963, so they have one title in the last 61 years yet you continue to be disappointed when they don't succeed. Explain.

Daniels is miles ahead of Williams in terms of rookie development yet you are all in denial that Williams may have been the wrong pick. You have convinced yourselves that since he was the #1 pick that he has to be the guy.

Next coach? Vrabel? I personally love the guy, but shocked someone here mentioned him. For a bunch of guys that want the Bears to put up 50 points a game I'm surprised you'd want another defensive coach. Any offensive success Vrabel had was due to Derek Henry. If you want a new HC the correct answer is Ben Johnson.

Flus has never won a game on the road on Sunday's.

NFL games are mostly played on Sunday's, right?

Bears have looked completely unprepared to play football these past two Sundays.

You hit the nail right on the head. It seems like the Bears players have lost interest in the game.
Quick story. After the Chicago Christian/ Illini West game my wife and I were walking out near the Illini bench. We saw an Illini player hugging his Mom and Dad weeping because they had lost the game. End of his high school career . Maybe he plays in college, maybe not. Out of respect to him and his parents we passed by silently. After a while my wife says " That's how it is when you put your whole heart into something ".
That's why I follow high school football. The Bears sicken me. Can't wait until Friday and Saturday

Defense had their worst game of the season, possibly injuries to Sweat, Gordon and Brisker contributed to that. Caleb continues to consistently overthrow passes. The O-line is not good when completely healthy. Throw in some injuries, and it's off the charts bad. They gave up 6 sacks, and Caleb was running for his life on what seemed like most pass plays. With the crowd noise, it's difficult to play O-line on the road. IMO, it's the biggest reason why the Bears struggle so much on the road. They simply cannot block well enough to run any type of offense.

Back to your quote, I'm wondering if Eberflus has "lost the locker room". There seemed to be a lot of public questioning from players after the Hail Mary debacle and the plays that led up to it. The long run the D gave up at the end of the 1st half basically ended the game. They were not coming back from that. Didn't seem like all out effort on the part of the D on that play, which was a microcosm of the day, IMO.

I'll start. Mike Vrabel
To think we could have gone into the season with Vrabel as HC & Kingsbury as OC.

I’ve tried to collect my thoughts best I can. Couple of things I look at when teams are bad. First is the organization. Do they know where they are going when they break the huddle, lineup, etc.

Second, effort. Thai can be categorized in a few ways but what I look for is even if you are making a mistake is if with supreme effort? You can always coach and correct but you can’t fix lazy.

This team is full of proven and talented players on both sides of the ball.

When they look this unorganized and this lazy that points to the coaching staff and preparation.

The defense looked like they never expected Arizona to run the ball.

Offensively, Arizona pressured a lot with just four. That’s just bad football.

My guy said ride this out with Flus because of the upgrades in talent. My gut tells me now to cut him loose before you ruin yet another talented young player in Williams.

Can’t make a case for more than one win the rest of the season.

I didn't see a down of the game. I was in the KC area visiting family and friends. The Lions, Packers game was on TV out there along with the Jags and Eagles on the other channel then there was bonus coverage of the Seahawks and Rams in the 3:00 window.

Just got back in late yesterday. But if some of the comments here are accurate, (which I trust they are), along with the Sun Times writers, it sounds like it was a disaster. I think Williams was sacked six times? Tells me he must have been hurried a lot too.

Yeah the Bears did give up 29 points. But you probably won't win a single game in the NFL when you only score 9 points. Three FGs and no TDs? Yikes!

Playing poorly is one thing. But some of the comments say the players are losing interest. Now that is a real problem. I really don't know how in hell these guys could lose interest in a career making this kind of money.

Now, this is an interesting post. Didn't we have guys here saying Williams was soft for crying to his mother after a college game loss? Yes we did.

I don't see where anyone is leaving the players out of criticism totally. They are paid to produce and clearly some aren't. But several of the coaching decisions are and have been questionable at best and disastrous at worst. Sometimes I wonder if these players know what direction they are going from week to week with this coaching staff.

It made no sense to me to keep Eberflus if the Bears were going to get rid of Fields and draft a new QB. Now is the time to fire Ebeflus. Not at the end of the year. The Bears need to cut their losses with this guy. He simply isn't a capable NFL head coach. The team is very undisciplined. That is coaching above all else. Guys do get fired in the middle of the season...unless they coach in Chicago for some reason.

I said before, this isn't a playoff team...and it isn't. In the playoff picture, the Bears are sitting at number eight. Yet, right now according to NFL.com the Bears playoff probability stands at 10%. Obviously, quality of the team and strength of remaining schedule has something to do with that. Because the 49ers are ninth, have the same record as the Bears, yet their playoff probability is 54%. Something else factored in is where the division leader is situated with record, who the Bears have to pass etc.

Either way, the Bears are not a playoff team and need to fire Eberflus to move on, right now.

For those saying Waldron is the problem,

If you believe Waldron is the problem, then you have to believe trading Caleb for Geno Smith fixes the problem

It doesn't work that way. John Fox was a good coach until he came to Chicago. Now he is not a good coach anymore? His record was 119-89 and his teams made the playoffs 7 of the 15 years he coached in Carolina and Denver. Then when he came to Chicago his record was 14-34 with no playoff appearances.

Not sure why Sweat didn't make it to the line of scrimmage after giving zero effort on the pass rush. He was rested. LOL.

Which player will blame the fans because of the booing?

Unless a miracle happens, eberflus and waldron should be packing their bags.

Why can't this overrated defense ever stop anyone from scoring with seconds remaining b4 halftime?

This is post-Brady and Belichek NE. And the Bears look horrendous 😬.
