OUCH! That accidentally struck a very tender nerve
Completely unintentional. Merely attending JCA made you a part of its illustrious football history.

In the 70s, smoking was permitted as a "Senior Privilege'" on the porch that ran between the old wing and new wing.If I remember correctly, during my freshman year(1984) at Joliet Catholic, there was a senior lounge, where the seniors could smoke. Maybe some older Hilltoppers could confirm. It was no longer there by my senior year.
I do remember that one senior privilege was you were allowed to have a mustache 😂My memory is not probably 100% accurate about the smoking, but I don't remember any allowed indoor smoking, not even in the Senior Lounge. The senior lounge was more just a place to relax, play games (cards), crash on a couch, etc.
There where areas outside the entrance & exits where it was allowed, but NOT advised if you bumped into one of the nuns, or worse, run into Coach Gillespie.

All... Game start 1PM. RatsyDid they move the LFL/SFHS game to the LWE slot or keep same time?
Completely agree on the playbook. I just watched NC vs HC, I formation and dives from NC.I also think its important for coaches to put the players in a position to be as successful as possible. For example, if you have a newer (younger) QB, keep the play calling within his natural ability. Don't overcomplicate things. Don't have your student athletes confused on the field about the play, route, responsibilities, etc.
I don't know if that is the case at The 'Brook, but I've seen it at other schools. Just because an energetic and enthusiastic coach has a playbook catalogue with 200 pass plays doesn't mean a 15 year old will always retain that knowledge.
Bolingbrook has such a rich history of being successful. I remember having only27 of 28 winning seasons at one point. So to have that much drop off in such a short period of time is perplexing.
At DePaul's downtown campus, we put out our cigarettes on the floor. Seriously. Of course, that was 50-some years ago.. Hell, there were ashtrays in my college classrooms!
Now that would be an upset!Plainfield North over York
Co-Op can happen. its coaching ego first. AD to coach: hey you want to co-op? Coach: No, we're better than them/he can't coach/who gets CPS stipend/etc. In Fall teams forfeit or has 15 players. Moving to 8-Man needs to be a conversation by CPL athletics, history matters, its the same teams. Every team ( statewide too), doesn't have to force the issue to get a team. Also its gangs in the schools that do not Co-opCoach Perry himself told me so.
We could smoke in the senior lounge at Loyola or in a specified area outside. Hell, there were ashtrays in my college classrooms! You probably were on the team but didn't win a state championship. That's okay. You must have gotten the cheerleaders if not the trophy.
I hated being so skinny back then. If I had it to do over again, I'd quit smoking and take up track. I don't know about other schools, but in the '60s MC let us smoke in the cafeteria.
Carmel at home, I don't see that happening; I do see the Scouts competitive first half. Final CC 35 LFHS 16Last week I had chuck north over palatine. This week going with Lake Forest over Carmel
