What about 1a and 2a or the 2 most South -south matchups for Charleston? That way their is less compression with regards to ISU game times like what happened for the Saturday games this year

This is how the annual MS/Etown game has been for years. Evanston comes out hard. MS handles the early storm. We go up a few scores. They begin to argue and point fingers. Game over. They have plenty of good football players over there. The right system and they could be in the playoffs yearly. I’m sure it’s not that easy, but there is potential there.

The new move in the CCL is to just coach and work in "development" if your the head football coach. Not a bad gig if you can get it. The downside is job security.

Not all Catholic League coaches are teachers. I don't believe Fitz is a dual coach-teacher. I believe he is a FT admin who primarily coaches football and is paid very well (and frankly he has proven his worth).

All.... I did a quick search. The Lions played what I guess you could call mid enrollment big boys. JCA in 2021. Hilltoppers won that game 30-20 In 2019 the season the school had to eventually forfeit the games they had played CR opened up the season against Nazareth defeating them 32-21.

I didn't come up with anything on CBC . The nemesis for them in Illinois of course is public school ESTL. I believe they are 0-3 against the Flyers.

I mentioned this earlier in the year. Using Ihsa rules CR with an enrollment of 371 in Illinois would of ended up in postseason play as a small 4A. CBC all boys at 845 would be playing class 8A. The Lions I feel would really struggle against someone like Mt. Carmel (-8) or Loyola (-7) as well as other large enrollment CCL teams. Lack of depth would hurt. A split using calpreps with them playing JCA and Nazareth according to calpreps. Plus 3 with JCA and - 3 with Nazareth. Possible success against mid tier CCL teams.

Calpreps showed double digit losses to Mt. Carmel (10) and Loyola for CBC. (14) Using JCA and Nazareth on the next level preps has plus 7 with the Hilltoppers and -13 playing the Roadrunners. Cadets do have an enromous roster with tons of talent. I think they could hang with the Caravan or Ramblers for a bit of the game. Would love to see it happen and would attend regardless of the drive.... Ratsy

Kudos to all the teams that made the playoffs. They all earned it. But the results were earned by the efforts on the field, not by enrollment.

I can get behind what is stated in the majority of this post. If you go back and revisit what you posted at 4:36AM it is quite a different tone. The CCL teams go where the IHSA sends them. The results are always based on the efforts on the field and in the weight room, etc…
It actually is a good story to see the rise of DePaul Prep. Clearly they are building something there. It just seemed like you were crowing and mocking the IHSA and more importantly, some of the opponents you defeated along the way. If I misinterpreted your post from this morning, then you have my apologies.

It is clear that if the outcome of those games were different there wouldn't have been such an outcry. DePaul missed the playoffs the year before and was a building program prior to that. I wondered what would have been the argument if our enrollment was still around 800, as previously recorded. At the end of the day all those kids, on both sides, suited up and played the game.
Kudos to all the teams that made the playoffs. They all earned it. But the results were earned by the efforts on the field, not by enrollment.

The IHSA machine got to work right away to "fix the unfair advantage of private schools!!! The state's programs on 1A to 4A cried and cried enough to protect their participation ribbons. Nobody complains about the 5A to 8A classes.... except the "One town, one program" people.

It wasn't a controversial argument until DePaul Prep ran the table on them this past post season!!!
