CS8 Predictions-Week 2

All.... Got it. Thanks. Ratsy P.S. The resident mouths seem to be quiet at the moment.
Don't sell yourself short rodent...you were plenty loud last night. But in all seriousness you must have missed the whole other thread covering this game. That would have given you the info you needed. Why do you care so much about "small ball" anyway??

We’ve been busy having a good beer.

Congratulations on beating the 331st rank team in the state by only three scores
Welp, good thing sympathy for Rochester only goes for about 2 hours.

Good luck moving forward with what we all saw was a clearly inferior QB moving forward. "Surprise" us with your freshman prodigy next week. We'll all be waiting to see the greatness. Hope he can carry the load! If he's a DL product he'll be just fine.

Congrats to SHG on righting the ship, let's remember they played a better team than Rochester in Week 1 and didn't lose any key players. I guess that's the win for SHG...

Final

Huge win for the program.
Any chance you're going to Southeast vs Lincoln today as QND plays both this season?

If so, would appreciate any thoughts you have on the game. Normally, I would go to a Saturday game this close but have a scheduling conflict.

All.... The loudest resident mouth still seems to be going strong, as seen above. I'm sure we all appreciate the snarky commentary. Gobears25.

All.... Why do I care so much about small ball. ? I don't as rule. But of course that match had a local flavor to it with a CS8 team. And somewhat intrigued noticing the Lions enrollment of 371 (sans the Catholic Tax and using actual numbers ) would of put them in last years Illinois playoff as a large 2A. That was about it. Lincoln very sloppy offensively. Lots of fumbles. Both teams guilty of this. QB 17 for Lincoln appears to go two way. QB/MLB. He missed a couple gimmies that would have scored or been for big gains. Number of two way guys it appears both teams. #69 for lincoln is a problem. Kids a tank. Spartans about how I expected. Can't move the ball well enough or control the line. Defensively they're holding up, just can't live giving up 4 to 8 yds a play.

All.... Roamin' I drove by Memorial Stadium about a half hour before this game on my way home. You think parking was bad before wait till you experience it when your Raiders play the Senators at the end of this month. Way less parking after the remodel to the stadium. Directly across the street from the main entrance they have demolished an entire block of homes and what is left is dirt. Overflow crowd are parking on it and with the wind blowing dust devils rising in the air are coating some vehicles. (lol) SHG has two games upcoming at the stadium. Might want to plan on getting there early to snag a parking space on what little blacktop or concrete is available. Ratsy

Spartans score finally.

30+ yd toss to the back corner. Great play. 2pt conv no good

Railers 34
Spartans 6
52secs 2Q

Grinding slow quarter. Couple injuries. Spartans offense really trying to let it fly this half. Spent half and the 3rd speaking with an older Glenwood guy. Nice fella. He thinks QND handles these two. Lol I'm hopeful. He was less than impressed with the Titans victory last evening.

I showed up about 5 mins into the 1st quarter. Found street parking behind Memorial off some north south street. It's gonna be tough when bigger games are held here for sure. Stands not even half full today.

I completely missed your ever so witty response. A little busy trying to see if the Wolverines are competitive this year. So, what did I miss about your squad getting a victory over a mediocre team after getting a clock put on them last week?

Remember when QB1 went down in the summer of 23 and Z just stepped in to replace him?
Remember in 2011 when the QB2 went 3-1 while QB1(Lunt) recovered from a broken foot?
Remember what happened on Black Friday Night in Memorial Stadium both years?
Yeah, we just walk with optimism Z recovers quickly or we duplicate our history.

Then again....no one talks about the Raiders QB at all.
Lol good one. There you go again, comparing yourself to QND to feel good. I've noticed this is a trend for you. Insecure about this season are we?

Nah, I just despise your entire town. Aside from the single street with the beautiful homes, reminiscent of my neighborhood in Michigan, your town looks like mid-90's Detroit. Ghetto AF

Lol you're always good for a laugh.

That would mean Rochester is comparable to Marblehead. Everybody's favorite meth production center.

All.... You didn't miss much while you were out of town watching an unethical program and team you idolize that used to be run by a crooked coach. Other then a 2A size enrollment high school smack the Rockets all over the field in Rochester. Ratsy

Let that hate consume you.

And by the way,... Calpreps has you and QND as a TOSSUP. I gave it to SHG because QND literally has zero credibility. But given the fact we literally NEVER think about your lil indians in Champaign, I can see why your envy is so strong. Would you like to kiss the ring?

You neglect to mention Ritter plays in 5A of. Six class state.

And CBC was ranked below them. Tell us why you had a clock put on you again?

All.... Now for what must be near a thousanth time when you yap about the Rockets that beat "5A St. Rita who is normally 7A" years ago a little addition must be brought up losing bad to a 2A sized high school. Try not to get so mad carpetbagger. This is just a football forum. Life will go on "eventually" for you. (lol) Ratsy

Forgive me for not knowing how to react to a potential three loss season. Then again, you could probably tell us more about how to recover. 2023, 19, 18, 17 says what? Or maybe you could tell us how it is to deal with having only five winning seasons in the last 25 years. ILL- I N I says what?

I do find it interesting that you remember my past comments. Living in your head rent free is sometimes enjoyable. Albeit It’s in a studio apartment in a section 8 neighborhood next to the railroad tracks with leaky plumbing, rat infestations, with no air conditioning in a street littered with heroin needles. But rent free is rent free.

Week 3 Matchups
Division play starts, so only 6 games all on Friday.

West Division
Jacksonville (2-0) at SHG (1-1)
Southeast (0-2) at QND (1-1)
Springfield (2-0) at Lanphier (0-2)

East Division
Chatham (1-1) at Eisenhower (0-2)
MacArthur (1-1) at U High (1-1)
Rochester (1-1) at Lincoln (2-0)

MacArthur at U High is the probably the game of the week after both schools had tough Week 2 losses. From a playoff point of view, the Generals need this one more than the Pioneers who end the season with Eisenhower, Southeast, and Lanphier. U High won 28-14 in '23.

It's looking more and more like the Week 8 matchup between Lanphier and Eisenhower will be the only win opportunity for either team.

There was a fair amount of hype leading into the Week 3 game last year between Jacksonville and SHG. The Crimsons were 2-0 and coming off a last second victory over MacArthur, and the Cycs were 1-1. SHG got up quickly and won going away 51-10.
