Bears

I thought that all last year. He needs to be the starter.

Since entering the University of Texas and including his two years with the Bears, Johnson has played in a total of 76 games and started a grand total of 5 of them.

That is not to say he shouldn't be starting over Swift. It is to say that he's probably not the guy to take the Bears where they want to go.

Look at who was ahead of him at Texas and do you really trust the Bears on RB decisions?

I am looking at what I see when he plays.

For what it's worth, Bears have second hardest schedule based on 2024 win %. Not overly surprising considering the division. And yes, I understand NFL changes yearly.

I remember the days when a last place team would get a last place schedule the next year.

I am hoping this thread does not go away. It has a lot of history and sometimes the history can be useful. If someone said something in the past and now denies saying it, there is proof available. If not, then it is one guy's word against the other.

The other thing is this. Sometimes people think a certain way about something and then alter their thinking as time goes on. People do change their minds on things. We can easily look up what was happening at the time and see how things worked out. Evidence.

I believe the history is worth keeping. Please let this thread stay.

I like it too. It certainly as had the longest run that I remember in 20 + years.

I'm hoping the thread does not go away. This Bears offense is loaded this upcoming year and could be the best in my lifetime.

The last two years draft picks are very interesting.

If the thread dies it would kind of be like the Cubs leaving WGN TV. I have not watched a Cub game since.

Not surprising but an official statement from Bears regarding AH site.

From the Trib:

“Over the last few months, we have made significant progress with the leaders in Arlington Heights, and look forward to continuing to work with state and local leaders on making a transformative economic development project for the region a reality,” the team said in a statement to the Tribune on Friday.
The stadium would be part of a 326-acre mixed use development that would include an entertainment district that would help fund the deal. It would be dependent on reaching agreement with local taxing bodies over property taxes, infrastructure funding and other financial aspects.

FYI this thread is gping to die soon...
Hey Edgy
Did somebody do something to cause this response? Maybe I missed something. The thread has been fun and informative. It’s football related. Not HS but it’s just one thread.
Hope you can leave up but if not I understand.

Merging with a new entity means lots of things will need to be transferred over and a thread this big is a target for deletion...just a hunch at this stage.

Now that the season is coming closer and the majority of the offseason is over what are your expectations? Given the new coaching staff, active offseason, and the draft, what do you determine a successful season to be?

Keep in mind "the boys in the desert" have the Bears win total at 8.5 and their odds of NOT making the playoffs at -180. So despite all that they have done, those in the know still predict them to he right around .500.

Weren't you the one who, last year around this time, said it is waaay too early to predict wins? I believe it was you.

Sounds like a good old fashioned attitude adjustment in training camp and Luther should be all that is expected of him.

Not that I don't think Ben Johnson had 50% of the final say, but I'm betting Randle-El was the guy that vouched for LB3 the most.

So if QB JJ McCarthy wins the starting QB role in the preseason, McCarthy will be playing his first NFL game for the Vikings in his home town of Chicago (LaGrange Nazareth Academy) on Monday Night Football!
