Bears

Ya just can't win ...
Seems the NFL does not want to deal with Shad and Dad's egos. I get that. Not to the point of Mel Kiper calling it disgraceful and insinuating it is because of something I do not think it is. Hell, maybe I am wrong, but ask Tomlin.

And the opposite. There were reports he was subdued and soft spoken during interviews (as well as reports of him being a diva.)

"There are these quiet critics out here who say he has a character problem," Drinkwitz said on the Rich Eisen Show on April 1. " "My response to everybody has been, he's never been arrested, he's never had a public incident at our university, he has never once been to my office to complain about his role. ... He's just been a great teammate."

HMMMM ... a too-quiet diva? MAYBE he was coached to stick to "yes sirs, appreciate you" phrases, who knows, but it goes to show, no one really knows how this plays out until this fall! Then we repeat the process the next year, and year after that!

I just can't figure out the Sanders situation. As far as LB3, the Bears got the steal of the draft. Ben Johnson has to be over the moon with these picks

I think the Sanders drama is so overblown and it’s all the media’s fault. He is not a starting NFL caliber QB. His ceiling was the mid-late 2nd round. I say it’s the media’s fault because they have hyped him up into something he is not. His name takes up the airwaves and he is constantly being discussed yet his play and talent don’t warrant the hype and attention he’s been given. I’m sure other factors such as how he carries himself in public and private interviews are contributing to his slide but his slide did not begin in the first round. He was never going there, those who believed it fell victim to the media hype train. Watch a game or listen to a podcast from the experts. Box scores and twitter timelines don’t always tell the real stories

As far as Sanders, he's been coached by his extremely famous Father his entire life. Sure some had Dad as a Coach for Pop Warner or even High School, but rarely Pop Warner, High School, and both Colleges....he has never been subjected to Coaching where the entire game plan was set up for him by his Father....he hasn't had the kick back or discipline that other Coaches give, not saying Prime doesn't get on him, but it's just different when it comes from Dad. So he's developed entitlement that I'm sure showed up in interviews.

If you draft the son, you draft the father too. It's a package deal. The old man meddled at CU to get the guy's number retired, an undeserved honor. He'll be a big headache to any team that takes the kid. Why bother?

Well said.
I really think NFL teams don’t want to deal with his Dad. I have made it clear I don’t like Coach Sanders, but I do feel bad for his son. If he was good enough he would have been picked already regardless of his Dad. He will get selected at some point. At best he will be a backup in the NFL.

Finally someone said what we all are thinking. I heard in an interview that Sheduer came off self entitled. The Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Dad has already started his crap because Sheduer hasn’t been selected. He isn’t helping his son every time he opens his mouth.

The Bears have pick coming up in the 5th. Any good running backs left? I am happy with picks so far, disappointing they missed on Skattebo. Damn Giants. Bears fans would have loved that guy.

Exactly this and the evidence is right there with how they're treating him right now. Been going on and on about how the Browns got the steal of the draft and he'll be competing for the starting job. They're almost mad that he wasn't picked until now.

Who wants to deal with Deion? The Browns have a ton of QBs. Watson, Pickett, Flacco, Dillion Gabriel and now Sanders. They also have first round pick next year. Next year is supposed to be a better year for QBs. I don’t think it was a smart pick. I am sure Daddy is going to be a pain in the ass with all these QBs his son has to compete against. Watson should be cut but I think his contract was guaranteed?

With all those QBs it's gonna be hilarious if he doesn't make the team.

Love Deion, he was my favorite player by far growing up, followed by Barry oddly enough. Love coach Prime and his unapologetic approach. I do think there was some apprehension to picking Sanders due to something with his pops and some message sent. The experts had him going earlier 🤷🏿‍♂️. That said the experts can be wrong both ways. Some bonehead traded up to pick Mitch Trubisky who couldn't even convince his college coach to start him over his predecessor. So we'll see what happens.

I'm just mad I didn't see the bears pick strictly OL and DL. I'll never forget that play last year where the entire OL was on their ass.

And hopefully next time I see Newsome and Mitchell's moms at breakfast they bring Prime. I'll fanboy out.

Is it fair to say Deion is just another dad who isn't objective when it comes to his own kid's talent? I would think so. Is it also fair that Shedeur received all that hype mainly because of his dad? I did watch him play a few times last season. I am no scout. But I didn't see him as a first round pick. The way they talked about him on the NFL channel you'd think the kid was going to be the first pick of the draft. But 5th round? Something is definitely going on.

We differ here Bones but that’s okay. No doubt Deion was a great player. No doubt he affected his son’s draft position. I agree about experts not always being right. Mitch was a terrible pick that they traded up to get. Crazy. Barry was great and I definitely liked the way he carried himself on and off the field. We shall see how Sheduer does in Cleveland. I like Dillion Gabriel better as a QB but will see how it shakes out in Ohio.
