Bears

He has performed as an OC and HC - OC at a very high level with great consistency. OC for the Ravens - lots of folks believe he’s the reason Lamar has taken the next step in his game. Did so at Georgia too before Baltimore.

Local guy never hurts and obviously not a reason to hire. Every once in a while you find a gem. If they don’t get Johnson I’d be perfectly happy with Monk.
I just don’t believe he could change the culture and handle ownership, Warren and Poles. Whoever they get better be a wolve not a sheep like Eberflus.

What has he done that leads you to believe he couldn't change the culture?
I guess i just don’t know him very well. Listen I will be completely honest. I really don’t care who they select as long as he turns out to be the right guy. Interviewing 20 guys doesn’t impress anyone. It kinda says they have no idea what they’re doing. If they go through there new process and still don’t get it right then what excuse will they use. I mean they seem to make the dumbest decisions over and over.

My advice to Bears brass.

Pick the candidate you like the least.

Let's try something different this time. Maybe it will work.

Yeah, right? Let's not hire anyone.
Didn't get a chance to write much before. Hello!! Did everyone have a great weekend like I did? I sure hope so.

Gee whiz why all the arguing? Today is a great day!! And the weekend was great too.

I went to the KC area for the weekend and went to the Texans, Chiefs game with family members. Four of us. Outstanding... a simply outstanding experience. Saw my college roomie there and we talked. Section 343 row 11. The field runs from the southeast to the northwest. There was some wind that could be felt and seen with the streamers on the goal post uprights. But where we were sitting it was pretty much at our backs since it was out of the north. Game date and time couldn't have been better. Perfect considering it was much colder and windier yesterday as opposed to Saturday. And yesterday's AFC game was the second one. Would have been chillier.

I am just going to say it again. If you haven't been to Arrowhead...wait, I mean GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, you must put it on your bucket list. Tremendous experience. I have been to several games there. I was very surprised at the cost of the tickets. Far less than I thought they might be. I would bet a regular season seat in the same type of location at Soldier Field costs quite a bit more. And think of the value I got with a Divisional Playoff game. Looking into tix this coming weekend.

I love it there. And the fans are very good. There were some drunk young guys in the row in front of us. But, it's a football game! I think they had too many hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps drinks. They were very wobbly in the 4th quarter. LOL. On the drive back I was thinking, why can't we have this up here? Answer, McCaskeys. LOL

only heard good things regarding Arrowhead.

With all the talk going on here about coaching hires and QBs, I watch the game on Saturday and saw in person what we all know. We all know our problems start with the organization itself. After that everything else follows.

All during that game I never had the feeling the Chiefs would or could lose. They really didn't jump out at you. That team just knows how to win. After the opening kickoff was returned by KC into the Texans red zone KC lost a yard on the drive and only came away with a FG. Texans tied it with a FG. At the end of the half the score was 13-6 Chiefs. In the beginning, I thought KC was pretty flat offensively. But the defense played well. Kept Houston out of the end zone.

Statistically, Houston was better. They had more offensive yards rushing and passing. But in the second half the Chiefs defense played very well. And it blew to smithereens the idea of complaining about the yards another teams' offense is getting when points are the most important thing. Yep the Texans gained more yardage but guess who scored more points and won.

And when it really came down to nut-cutting time the experience of Mahomes and Kelce made the difference. Mahomes was pressured a lot. But didn't flinch. And he got protection when it was really needed. The Chiefs just kept playing all through that game. Houston looked much more "urgent" and rushed. If KC made a bad play or got a penalty they just went to the next play and it was forgotten.

I didn't come away from that game thinking I was blown away by a lot of spectacular plays although the TD throw Mahomes made while falling forward was outstanding. But the confidence that team had does scream at you. The Chiefs know if they are in a close game they are going to win. You guys have been to games. One thing about being there is the fact you can feel the emotion a lot more. I didn't sense any nervousness or negativity in the fans I sat around.

This is what you see in a team that doesn't beat itself. They don't make plays that will get them beat. Buffalo is going to be a real challenge. And I do think the Chiefs will have to come out better than they were on Saturday. But if that game is close I must give KC the edge.

The whole experience makes me even more aggravated that people in Chicago can't experience this.

The two family members whose house I went to and stayed at just moved to the area in October and have already made the downstroke for season tickets in 2025. My child in that marriage has been a Chiefs fan since age 10. So that person is in heaven. But that was the 4th game at Arrowhead that person has been to and has lived as far as 1500 miles from KC. LOL. First game attended since moving to the area, however.
