Bears

I like what I am seeing in Williams. I think he is starting to get his confidence in the NFL. I agree I think it would only benefit him to play more. That’s a coaching decision. I think they are protecting him from a meaningless game.
I believe the more reps the better but I don’t get paid the big bucks to make that decision.
He's a combined 10/20 with 0 TD passes. He needs more reps with the starters.

I will be, at best, cautiously optimistic until I see some regular season results.

Ever heard of CJ Stroud? Heard he was pretty good last year. Russell Wilson, Baker Mayfield, Dak Prescott, Mac Jones, Justin Herbert Matt Ryan Carson Wentz - all pretty good players in their rookie years. But hey rookie quarterback is are not always good in their first year so their is that. Again glad you aren’t the GM

I am sure you didn't mean to. But you forgot Brock Purdy. He had a pretty good rookie season.

Among all of those QBs there's one Super Bowl win. Yes, rookie QBs can have had success but that's the exception not the rule. Also, Mac Jones, really?
Just so you understand the concept. He is talking about QB rookie seasons. Ok? Rookie seasons.

I will be very interested to see if they cover the Bears pursuit of Matthew Judon this week on Hard Knocks. The version featuring the NYG offseason was really interesting to see how they went after players.
They did, if you didn't watch last night.

Regarding hard knocks, it's a fluff piece, but it's passing the time until week 1 for me. I enjoy it.

The way Poles handled the Judon situation and potential trade was tactical and brilliant. No point in wasting a pick for a guy who won’t play here longer term. Nice to see a GM that plays the game his way and not dictated by others.

It was definitely an interesting spin considering all other media outlets say that Judon had his choice and picked Atlanta over Chicago.

For those of you debating NFC North division strength, ESPN has chimed in with the following division rankings for the upcoming season:
1. AFC North
2. NFC West
3. NFC North
4. AFC South
4. AFC East

Now, there's a great source. NOT

Did anyone notice no swearing on Hard Knocks?
I didn't pay attention to it. But I guess you're right. The only other "Hard Knocks" I ever bothered to watch was last year's presentation of the Jets. I was interested in the Aaron Rodgers aspect of it. I don't remember any or very little cussing on that series either.

The family didn’t want any this year. I didn’t notice until I read about it.

Prediction Time

How do the Bears do in game 1?

How does Caleb perform in game 1?

What week do we realize our offensive line issues are not yet fixed?

Well, I picked the Bears to win. Mostly because I think Tennessee will struggle all season. Hard for me to say how Caleb will do because I didn't see a down he played in pre-season. But from what I have heard and read he should be fine. Again, the Titans are pretty weak.

Velus Jones has failed every time he's basically been given a chance. Poles can't be this stupid, can he? Dropped passes, huge TOs and sucking rule the day, I guess. Swallow your pride Poles and cut him at halftime!

CW: you are NOT Mahomes. Quit trying to be a hero and do your damn job!

Thank you Bears: I have Pollard as my Flex.

I was just going to look and get a Bear's score update, BUT after reading the last 4 comments, I think I'll pass and just assume it's not going so well. :)

Not gonna go jump off a bridge or anything, but this has been disappointing so far to say the least.

Caleb hasn’t been particularly accurate which was supposedly a strength.
Shoulda had a TD to Allen though. That was a total drop

WTF, I finally got around to checking the score and the Bears are winning and look primed to Win.

Of course they've score 14 pts in the 4th. But I thought I was going to see a complete disaster.

A wins a win but less than 150 yards offensively warrants some criticism.
I don’t think Caleb Williams was the problem. They need to find a quick fix to the O Line or he won’t make it through all 17. Agreed

Like everyone else the Oline needs time to play together, but absolving Williams of all fault is short sighted. Other than the drop by Allen at the goal line he did not have one good throw. His deep balls were over thrown, his throws over the middle were short or behind. The throw that Odunze caught that bounced 900 feet in the air hit a closing defender in the face, and he had multiple balls tipped. He wasn't bad, but hard to give him any kind of credit at this point either.
