Bears

You come off a bye week and play that bad

You throw a bomb on 3rd and 1 and then bring the punt team out there, fans boo you so you call a TO and get stuffed. Give the Ravens a short field

The Ravens were WO their qb, top WR and RB

Only reason we scored at the end was a Veteran QB calling a dbl move (huge balls).

2pt play is the same thing they always do. Garbage

The freakin crowd was chanting “fire Nagy”

HOW CAN THE LEADERSHIP ALLOW THIS SHART-SHOW ANY LONGER? Just pull the bandaid off and get it over w

Since 1986 the Bear's management have made every bad move possible. Terrible draft picks, coaches, paying big money to free agents who are on the other side of the mountain.
When the Bears are sold, and new management installed, expect to see winning Bears teams. Until that time, be content with what you saw on the field today.

Totally agree on everything here! Fire him fire him now. I can’t stand looking at him. That’s hard for me personally to say but this guy sucks that bad. Fire Pace right afterward.

I always thought no Bears coach could be worse than Dave Wannstedt. Nagy has surpassed him by a mile

Maybe we can pay Pace to only draft corners and running backs. The only two positions he seems to be partial to

History of Bears football, they have never fired a head coach midseason. No idea why people think they would start now

Nagy = Trestman. Except even worse.

At least Wanny had a cool stache and funny accent.
Would love to find Wanny's WTF moment on YouTube from the 2000 week 17 game when the ref (Johnny Grier) walked into the locker room 40 mins after the game ended to inform the Dolphins they still had around 35 secs in the game to play.

I’ve been thinking lately how much I’d like to see Pat Fitzgerald HC the Bears.

Screw all the offensive guru types. Just get a hard nose Chicago guy. You can go hire an OC that knows the game.

Most embarrassing HC we’ve ever had….
That's just recency bias

Please don't take this as me defending Nagy, because I don't think he's good. However, in the end, people are judged on winning. He's slightly over .500 and right in the middle for Bears head coach winning %.

Worst %:
Abe Gibron .274
John Fox .292

I just don't see the point in firing him now. My hope would be at the end of season, that both Nagy and Pace can share a u-haul to clean out their offices.

I only saw very little of the 1st half. I was outside till about 2:00 putting up Christmas yard decorations. I felt my time was better spent doing that instead of watching the sorry Bears. Fields may have been the best QB on the field against PIT, but yesterday he was the 3rd best QB on the field. I said before, I think he simply isn't ready to play in the NFL week to week. H is very inconsistent and doesn't see the field well enough. I can't place all of the blame on him though.

I think of all the things that bug me about Nagy is this. He is telling it like it ain't. He is saying things are happening one way when the game video shows the opposite. And he continues to do it. I think this team has talent and is playing way under their capability. That's coaching and of course it's a reflection on the organization and the owners themselves.

By they way...have you noticed New England moving into 1st place in the AFC East? What do you know? And, Mac Jones is having a good season and is doing better than any other rookie QB in the entire league, by a large margin. So, what is it? Is he the most talented or most athletic? Or, is part of the equation the fact he's in a superior system and is coached properly?

The Patriots have a tough schedule ahead of them and may not end up winning their division. But they are once again in the thick of things here at this point of the season with a good chance of making the playoffs after missing the playoffs last year. One single year of missing the playoffs and they are right back in it again. Go figure.

I respect you opinion. However, college football is NOT the NFL. The stuff the college coaches do doesn't fly in the NFL. These guys in the NFL are paid big money. If coaches get under their skin and try the rah rah stuff or get too negative, they'll quit on him and before you know it, that coach is gone.

I am not saying I disagree with you totally. I'd like a hard-nosed guy too. But the days of Ditka and Parcells in the NFL are long, long gone.

I could see Fitz being the organization CEO given his history with both Mark Murphy and Jim Phillips, as well as through NU donor Bears 10% owner Patrick Ryan. He could always keep the HC on a short leash and be ready to step onto the sidelines like Pat Riley or Jack McKeon if need be

Most embarrassing HC we’ve ever had….
But you want to hire Fitzgerald, a defensive minded, hard-nosed head coach, whose team absolutely stinks

A hard-nosed Chicago guy whose defense has allowed 259 points in eight Big Ten games.

Yeah, that's the ticket.

If Fitz was from Altoona, Pennsylvania and not Orland Park would anyone be clamoring for him? I don't think so either.

Yea because his team has been to the big ten championship 2 of the 3 previous season. His d lost some very talented players to the NFL. Northwestern is not Ohio State so it’s not like he can just reload every year. I hate PF but hard to knock what he has done.

Not knocking what he's done. He's a great college football coach. But let's be honest here, the Big Ten West us underwhelming, especially in recent seasons. Plenty of other college coaches with his pedigree, but I get why people like him. Great personality and local.

I’m not judging it solely based on W/L.

The way he botches situational game management is brutal.
Example: the 3rd and 1 and subsequent 4th and 1 situation yesterday. As the HC, you tell the QC “we have 3rd and 1 let’s take a shot and we’ll go for it on 4th down if needed.” Nagy, not so much.

Also, how he used their TO’s yesterday was JR high level. You score and go up 4 w under 2min and you take a TO to discuss whether or not to go for 2? It’s a no brainer!

The way he handles the press conference and is the face of the organization.
Example: the question was asked in the press conference yesterday “if healthy, is Fields the starting QB Thursday”. He said he’d have to eval the film and not ready to make that decision.
Justin Fields is your QB! Why even open the door to a position battle right now?

The way this team has embarrassed themselves this year vs the Browns and Bucs.

He’s fired himself as the OC twice

The other thing on Fitz...why would he ever want to take that job? He's got a great job now and is being paid generously. No real reason to leave Evanston, IMO.

He's previously entertained the idea of working for the Bears. I think he said he would only go pro for the Bears job. That may have changed after last years extension, but it's not off the table.

Fitz isn’t a rah rah guy. He understand Chicago and is a players coach.

Word just came out that Nagy has lost the locker room. Writing on the wall

I don’t believe any good GM or HC would touch a Bears job given current ownership and Ted Phillips

I wanted Mack Jones and was upset that the Bears didn’t pick him because I feel he will be the best QB from the draft. That said I didn’t hate the Fields pick and do feel he fits the Bears better. I like Fields he will be good for the Bears if they build around him. The management is not capable of doing that nor is the coach. Get rid of Nagy and Pace and start over. The best case scenario is the Bears are sold but I would not bet on that happening until Virginia passes. Guys she might out live all of us! Lol
Watch Mack Jones and the Patriots and think why can’t we do that? 😊

At the start of the season, I had a small tiny glimmer of hope that MAYBE this year, this thread would not become the usual "burn it all down and start over" or "get used to it, our owners suck" thread by Thanksgiving.

What the hell was I thinking? And btw....I agree with both sentiments.

If you want to hire a college why would you go to Evanston when you can go to South Bend? Brian Kelly has taken a job that everyone said was dead and made it a destination job again, not to mention his CEO style of coaching translates much better to the NFL instead of the rah rah approach.

If the Bears were HQ'd in a different section of the suburbs, sure why not?

Fitzgerald? no
Day? No
Kelly? No

Can we name a few successful college coaches in the league? Not many, hard to think of any that left college went to the league and we’re successful.

Ruhle
Meyer
Carroll - yep he’s the one
Saban
Jimmy Johnson - yep him too
Harbaugh
Kelly - not the ND guy
Spurrier
Kiffin

I’m sure there is more. Different coaching in college than NFL

I think that’s a fake narrative. The truth is, No matter what your resume is, it’s hard to be an NFL HC and a high turnover position.

There are plenty of great NFL coordinators that failed as NFL HC’s.

Read an article over the weekend that the Bears are Harbaughs dream NFL job.

Michigans season will be over on Sunday. Harbaugh could be on the sidelines for the Bears next week.
