WARREN 31, PALATINE 24 —- FINAL

I would say a good 2-hour game especially if Warren can control the clock with the running game. But either way try to get there earlier because that parking lot fills quickly and there is not a lot of options other than street parking around there
Smart. Also when you leave go west on Main/county line Road. Everyone wants to go east but if you go west, it will be open. And of course enjoy a pork chop sandwich at halftime!

Bears

You hit the nail right on the head. It seems like the Bears players have lost interest in the game.
Quick story. After the Chicago Christian/ Illini West game my wife and I were walking out near the Illini bench. We saw an Illini player hugging his Mom and Dad weeping because they had lost the game. End of his high school career . Maybe he plays in college, maybe not. Out of respect to him and his parents we passed by silently. After a while my wife says " That's how it is when you put your whole heart into something ".
That's why I follow high school football. The Bears sicken me. Can't wait until Friday and Saturday
Now, this is an interesting post. Didn't we have guys here saying Williams was soft for crying to his mother after a college game loss? Yes we did.

Bears

I didn't see a down of the game. I was in the KC area visiting family and friends. The Lions, Packers game was on TV out there along with the Jags and Eagles on the other channel then there was bonus coverage of the Seahawks and Rams in the 3:00 window.

Just got back in late yesterday. But if some of the comments here are accurate, (which I trust they are), along with the Sun Times writers, it sounds like it was a disaster. I think Williams was sacked six times? Tells me he must have been hurried a lot too.

Yeah the Bears did give up 29 points. But you probably won't win a single game in the NFL when you only score 9 points. Three FGs and no TDs? Yikes!

Playing poorly is one thing. But some of the comments say the players are losing interest. Now that is a real problem. I really don't know how in hell these guys could lose interest in a career making this kind of money.

WARREN 31, PALATINE 24 —- FINAL

I think this will be a good game and plan on attending. But does anyone know about what a time a game starting at 7:30 might end?

Pretty rare feat I would guess

Interesting question. I feel like in multi-school districts, one usually draws the talent away from the others, i.e. in Maine Township, most serious football players found a way to go to Maine South (moved mostly).

I think in the early 2000s Glenbard West and North were both pretty good, not sure about South and East. Montini good at that time as well.

Have Nequa, Metea, and Waubonsie ever been solid at one time? Unfamiliar.
Speaking of Glenbard North…feel like we haven’t heard from them in awhile.

Waterloo v. Cahokia

Will you be at The Stubborn German before the game? I have had lots of bourbons and beers there!
All..... OR.... Randy's Double R Bar. They open up at 6am. Haaa Plenty of time to have fun before that 1pm start. The rodent found himself in this "Cheers" dive like establishment before the Waterloo/SHG game in 2022. Had what I would guess about an 80 year old woman hit on me a half hour into beer number two.

I had learned that on Saturday's they put out free food pot luck style. Lots of bar folk taking advantage of that who had been drinking pretty early. The kicker though was when I used the mens bathroom. A little larger (but not much) then a telephone booth with a urinal and toilet. Wait for it..... but not a sink to wash your hands. 😂 Saw quite a few men reaching into bowls of potato chips with their hands that were set out with the other food. 🤭 Good thing the rodent doesn't eat before games. ICE Playoffs Round 2

Eureka is pretty good. They like to sling it around and might be able to bust a few big plays. Seems like they had an opportunistic defense vs Peotone, forcing 3 turnovers. They did have 4 shutouts this year.
As long as Wilmo isn’t really hampering themselves with penalties and turnovers, I think they should be able to consistently score. A lot of teams have been keyed in on the senior WB which has allowed the junior WB to have some huge games lately with pretty remarkable YPC numbers.
Give me Wilmo pulling away to win by 3-4 scores in what is very likely their last opportunity to run out of the woods.

Boylan’s conference contains some fairly large enrollment schools, but none of them seem to be that great. Their conference went only 2-4 in round 1, but two of those losses were to Mt. Carmel and St. Rita. Coalers have probably been bigger than every opponent except Morris, but this time they might not have the size advantage. I think that weather could be a factor and that Boylan’s defense will be tougher than most other teams that CC has played. I like CC to move on in a one score game.

Player of the Year candidates?

Longtime students of the game will have noticed that the Sun-Times Player of the Year award tends to go to a player who leads his team to the finals. But how often in fact has the POY played on a championship caliber team? The award goes back to 1950, but I went back only as far as 1990. Of the 33 POYs since then, 21 played on teams that made it to the finals. So while not strictly necessary, winning a team trophy does confer a distinct advantage.
So you're saying there's a chance.
