Had plans today, the game was on but wasn't focused on it. What I did see wasn't great. My question is for the members of this board, why do all of the players get a free pass? Almost zero comments about execution, just all on coaching.
Friends and family I was with criticized the coaches but blamed the players more for lack of execution, but everyone here lays it all on the coaches. Why? Why does Caleb's inaccuracy get a free pass when Fields didn't? Why do you comment about coaches not making adjustments but not defenders ability to make a tackle? Caleb holds the ball too long or can't just throw to the check down and it's all on the OL and not him.
Why do you all hold the Bears to such high expectations? Their last 2 championships were 1985 and 1963, so they have one title in the last 61 years yet you continue to be disappointed when they don't succeed. Explain.
Daniels is miles ahead of Williams in terms of rookie development yet you are all in denial that Williams may have been the wrong pick. You have convinced yourselves that since he was the #1 pick that he has to be the guy.
Next coach? Vrabel? I personally love the guy, but shocked someone here mentioned him. For a bunch of guys that want the Bears to put up 50 points a game I'm surprised you'd want another defensive coach. Any offensive success Vrabel had was due to Derek Henry. If you want a new HC the correct answer is Ben Johnson.
I don't see where anyone is leaving the players out of criticism totally. They are paid to produce and clearly some aren't. But several of the coaching decisions are and have been questionable at best and disastrous at worst. Sometimes I wonder if these players know what direction they are going from week to week with this coaching staff.
It made no sense to me to keep Eberflus if the Bears were going to get rid of Fields and draft a new QB. Now is the time to fire Ebeflus. Not at the end of the year. The Bears need to cut their losses with this guy. He simply isn't a capable NFL head coach. The team is very undisciplined. That is coaching above all else. Guys do get fired in the middle of the season...unless they coach in Chicago for some reason.
I said before, this isn't a playoff team...and it isn't. In the playoff picture, the Bears are sitting at number eight. Yet, right now according to NFL.com the Bears playoff probability stands at 10%. Obviously, quality of the team and strength of remaining schedule has something to do with that. Because the 49ers are ninth, have the same record as the Bears, yet their playoff probability is 54%. Something else factored in is where the division leader is situated with record, who the Bears have to pass etc.
Either way, the Bears are not a playoff team and need to fire Eberflus to move on, right now.
