WARREN 31, PALATINE 24 —- FINAL

Sad result. Not going to blame it on backup QB, but maybe it was a factor. But if Palatine was for real, they should have won this game.
Well, at full strength they beat 4 teams that won tonight and lost to another one that won tonight by 1 pt.

Not blaming the QB either, MS4EVER can probably point out how many starting QBs they've had go down and still win. I feel terrible for him, he was lights out as a freshman and sophomore, but when you don't play the position for two years and then get thrown in it's hard to be sharp. Lots of big players played their last game tonight, but alot of impact players(including the injured QB) return next year. Hope springs eternal - it will be interesting to see Santiago vs Johnny Football next year.

Starting qb…one of the two most important positions in sports (hockey goalie).
May not be 100 pct. Right on all this but it’s a list on my old old mind from this prep season.
1) Mt Carmel had a surprise lost when it’s starting qb was out.
2) Loyola had a surprising loss when it’s starting qb was out.
3) same for Downers Grove
4) East St. Louis scuffled in a league games when it’s starting qb was out.
5) palatine lost on playoffs with its starting qb out.
6) Maine South lost game this season with its starting qb out.

Enjoyed watching game on internet especially play of Warren RB and Palstine WR No. 18.
Palatine students did well enough with coverage with one bad gaffe.
The announcer praised Palatine kid that is running in ihsa sectional on Saturday. Nice. But next sentence I believe he said nobody cares because it’s cross country. Not nice if I heard correctly.

+1 St. Laurence - QB was out several games.
+1 Fenwick (today - Saturday - may be the end of their season, unless they elect to play in PB. QB is out).

I keep drinking the Palatine Kool Aid every year.
Me too. Year in and year out I see Palatine play and every year I think they are going to make a deep run. I know two of those years injury to the QBs hurt them. They are a hard team to figure out. Warren is another team that’s traditionally hard to figure out too. This should’ve been called the Enigma Bowl.

I think Barrington takes them. By a few scores. That was a great 5-4 team but injuries hurt palatine. This one hurts.
Heck Warren is missing a lot of key players. Mac makes no excuses. Warren is top 8A team. Everyone forgot Barrington took Warren off their out of conference schedule. It's not a given Barrington beats Warren. Buckle up you know what's coning. Go Warren ! 🎢

Barrington is 4-3 against Warren in their last seven matchups going back 10 years. Including 1-0 in the playoffs. Barrington did not “take Warren off” of their non-conference schedule. And if they did, it wasn’t because they’re scared of them. They play Maine South now every year.

Who else? Warren plays M.S. let's see if Barrington can stop the run. If Mac runs the ball well. If Warren does lose it will be extremely physical. The game starts in the middle of 3Q. I have seen the last 7 games. When did Mac start coaching? That is what I care about.

Having seen both teams in the last three games- Barrington will have trouble stopping your run game, but you'll have a problem stopping their passing game.

Warren's run defense was lights out and very quick, but the pass defense wasn't super solid. Palatine's backup QB still threw for 283 yards and 3 TDs. It was the 4 interceptions that cost them the game. A healthy Santiago is probably worth a four TD swing. You guys had two TDs on short drives after turnovers and there were two stalled Palatine drives that Santi likely would have driven in - but sadly he was a guest of Purdue at their game yesterday instead of preparing for Barrington.

Bottom line is, whoever neutralizes the other teams strength best will win.

This game will come down to can Warren's running game keep the Barrington offense off the field. Warren was susceptible to a lot of long touchdown runs this year. But this is by far at least in the last 15 years the worst team defense Warren has put on the field. I think statistically even Micah can't argue that. Hoping to see a good game

I think this will be a good game and plan on attending. But does anyone know about what a time a game starting at 7:30 might end?

I would say a good 2-hour game especially if Warren can control the clock with the running game. But either way try to get there earlier because that parking lot fills quickly and there is not a lot of options other than street parking around there

Smart. Also when you leave go west on Main/county line Road. Everyone wants to go east but if you go west, it will be open. And of course enjoy a pork chop sandwich at halftime!

yea I don't doubt that Warren will be a tough out I was just responding to your suggestion that Barrington took Warren off their schedule because they don't want to play them. Not true. Barrington has had success against Warren including in the playoffs.

You shouldn't have to use street parking. The main lot you will have trouble getting in. But just north of the stadium is another lot at Field of Dreams. A bit of a walk (few hundred yards) but not bad at all. You will find parking there. Put Field of Dreams in your GPS. You enter off Hart Road just before hitting the high school. Walk past the baseball fields from the lot and you will come up on the stadium and school. I park here anyways because it is also way easier when you leave.

Are you talking about the field on O]Plaine Rd or do they play at the campus on Washington now?!
