Champ Champ Champ Champ for Althoff???

Hill came as a jr. played for Vashon frosh and sophomore year. When vashon football and basketball coaches was set to leave he then chose Althoff. Once he came, all others were interested. Getting him was great for Althoff.

No need to defend and enjoy your ship. There are similar stories for all the teams up north that are questioning Althoff.

For me, I wasn’t excited about them being in 1a but the team itself was legit and deserve the title. A 3a win over Montini would have been perfect. It was unfair to Lewin or any other 1a school.
Agreed
Crusader no need to explain everyone gets transfers. They just don’t make it public.

Private Schools 7 - Public Schools 1. That’s a wrap!

Phil Acton legend from Bolingbrook said it right years ago. Yeah it stinks we have kids who live across the street from our school that play for Providence & more so Joliet Catholic who beat us but we just need to get better then. I’m a SICA & Illini 8 guy but have no issues with Privates.
I don’t have an issue with them. I think all Illinois high schools should play each other but, in the playoffs, there should be separate classes. I wrote something up on here a few years ago. 5 public and 3 private classes. That’s the way to go.

Dierre came in at semester, I believe. I thought it was freshman year, Was still living up north, so I may be incorrect.

Not completely. Schools of origin might be, but the timeframe is not. The starters were not accurate based on the state listing. Also, two are sons of Althoff grads - not outlandish to make that move. Also, the baseball coach came from Granite - not surprised some of his kids followed him. West to Althoff happens all of the time - and vice versa.

Let us address the big two - Dowell and Dierre. Both came after freshman year. Dowell is a devout man of God. His older brother went to Althoff and was coached by the previous baseball manager, who happens to be the Mayor of Sauget, BTW. Cahokia High, the be plain, got very bad. There are more shootings in that village than East Saint.

Dierre's family moved and established roots in Belleville. Born and raised in Centralia, his family moved to STL late in grade school. After seeing that life, they too wanted to escape the violence for a better setting for their children. A few kids came from Ritter for the same reason and already lived in Illinois.

It does look suspicious when generations live on the same plot of land and sometimes the same house all of their lives. But the reality is, there are transient families down here.

Losing Conners was a big blow to York. Really made the O one dimensional, not to mention the D impact. Not saying he'd have flipped the score, but definitely think the spread would have come down.
I think this game could’ve been much worse actually. Loyola wasn’t interested in this score getting worse. I think Desherow took the oppposite approach of lynch. He understands how bad it would look to run it up. They could’ve scored 3 more tds in the fourth.

You make very good points. However, in Michigan, the Publix are dominating. How is it that it’s actually pretty even in Michigan year to year and yet Illinois seems to always complain about this issue? Maybe public school kids in Illinois just can’t play football at a high level. East Side doesn’t care. Rochester doesn’t care. Both of those examples are diametrically different in community, income level, and geography. Yet both are feared the moment they step onto the field.
Sharia law and godless people.

15 minutes of Googling less me to this blog page. Doesn't seem like everyone in Michigan is reaching the same conclusion as you about public domination?

Directionally very similar stats to IL. And a shout out to IL for having the multiplier mentioned 😅

What did we learn this season!?!?!?!

THIS!!!

There were many great Public/Private match up's in this years playoffs but DUE TO THE SEEDING they happened too early on. Loyola Academy/Lincoln Way East, Mt Carmel/Normal, Fenwick/Downers Grove North, DePaul/Coal City, and you can't get much closer then Byron/Montini. All great games decided by 1 score that went down to the wire.
Morgan Park as a #1 seed was a joke.

Private Schools 7 - Public Schools 1. That’s a wrap!

well, according to Jordan Lynch, Mt. Carmel is at a big disadvantage because public schools have feeder programs.

He’s a guy that doesn’t get it. Not hard to plug and play D1 kids on your team. The majority of HS coaches could have won a state title with his roster

Private Schools 7 - Public Schools 1. That’s a wrap!

I guess 8a was a bit more competitive than I expected but that 4th quarter was a snooze fest with both teams were going through the motions. This game was done.

6A championship conversation

No disrespect, but continuing to say "missed" call, when NOTHING was "missed" on the other side, "weak" or questionable, or whatever other nice word you want to use only keeps a narrative going for all the people who don't actually watch games. Including some at the ihsa and officiating crews. Just say it was bad! That's not even a shot at the entire officiating community or even that crew. It was one guy that wanted to make a state championship game about him!!!
Yes. I will say that it was one guy in that crew that was bad. You could tell from the first call of the game he thought this was his moment.

8:30 .... DPI = dude fell. Led to first score by Taylor.

9:41 Blue defender holds legs of white receiver after the tackle on the ground.

11:00: Correct DPI call - white catches weighed flag that would have hit him in the nuts. It was funny to me.

11:10: Sure looked like a fumble and blue recovery!!!! Hips and shoulder in the process of rotating, arm was never coming forward. Likely a pick up and D TD. Led to a score.

19:00l LONG scramble (no holds...) then a very ticky tacky DPI on white.

19:53: Missed inadvertent Facemasking by blue 15.

20;25: Just a badass run by Fresh Woods!

21:40: WEAK DPI called on white.

24:00: The questionable line pick. At 24:03, the tip of the ball is on the ground and there is no possession. Jack's reaction on the broadcast was infuriating, like, Oh Well - let them have it.

27:10: Artagus looking good in his orange coat!!!!

This argument will never end until the private schools are out of the Ihsa or they get their own classes. School vouchers will never happen in Illinois. Yes people who go to private schools also pay local taxes, as they should. You get value for your home from the local schools. If you choose to not send your kid to the public school you shouldn’t get to not pay taxes. The private/public debate will never go away because neither side will admit they are wrong.

York has never been here before. Ever. They have Maybe their best team ever.
Yet they are about to go get their butts handed to them by the school, who’s is supposedly down this year, that has been here 10+ times in the last 15 years.
