MC 7 while LA 8?
I’ll give you points for finding a new way to sandbag, but after beating the Ramblers on the road last year, the Caravan needs to be the favorite.
Plus LA has a road game versus a D1 factory and BR is looking to settle scores.

MC and LA 7.5. Final offer.

Any intel on the Green?

JCA would have to have some great melding of young talent to reach that. If we can get 7 wins in 2019, watch out in 2020.
Heard JCA got another nice transfer this week. Big O-lineman from WI. His dad was a JCHS grad.

Awesome! I'm still waiting for Jaws to unleash a realistic passing game that will cause defenses to have to respect it and not cheat against the running game. Sounds like some of the pieces could be falling into place.

1) Wide receiver from up north
2) OL from Wisconsin
3) (Something that may be a secret, not sure if I can mention here.)
4) A few talented returning starters or saw some time.
5) Some talented (but young) underclassmen.
6) ?? How are JCA's QB prospects and do they have decent arms?

And although he won't necessarily help the Offense or passing game - the LB from Indiana.

Marist has had their number. Beat them by 3 TDs last year at Naz. Not sure what Benet ND have back but those last 3 games is where an L would occur

That would be huge as that seems like one of their bigger unknowns. Having 2 established players on a 5 man line is a lot better than just 1. Forgot there was a LB transfer too.

Offensive skill positions intrigue me. Williams should be good to go. But Mack showed real well late last year. And the Washington kid from DGS looks like a playmaker. Given those three, I wonder how often we will see a three man backfield and how often they flex one or two out to an edge position. Problem with a three man backfield is I dont know if any one of them is a blocking fullback type. But they made it work with isaac, Ferguson, and Jones.

I see 4 to 6 wins but there are so many unknowns it is hard to make a true prediction.

They should be very deep at RB. Before the Washington transfer, I thought they would start soph. Jordan Anderson opposite K. Williams. He's got nice size and speed and should be varsity-ready. He will add to the depth at the position, which is needed, as last year showed. Don't forget Sr. FB Julian Perez. He played some quality snaps in the championship game when Hailey was out.

The O-line transfer is a huge addition, IMO. He's a Sr. and fills a big need. Very good size (6'5 285) and has some offers.

Definitely agree Perez and the soph will play a role as well. Perez would probably be FB in any 3 back set. With 5 or more realistic backfield options, I have to imagine that at least one or two get decent time at receiver, DB, or maybe even Perez on D line.

From last year's small sample size, Williams has ridiculous upside but needs to hit the hole harder and run more physical to be "the guy." Should be fun to watch it develop. Defense has a lot of question marks, which is why it may be nice to see Perez at DL/LB, or any of the others at corner or safety.

I see the schedule like this......

Need to win....DePaul, Carmel, Ignatius
Could go either way....marmion,fenwick, Laurence
Definite underdog.....rita, IC, rice

Ignatius could switch places with marmion or fenwick because I am not sure what each has coming back.

Marist will win 6 games even with how many players they lost.
Which of these 4 teams do you guarantee a win against?

Brother Rice (25 MW)
Mt. Carmel (no MW rank)
Nazareth (9 MW)
Loyola (4 MW)

Or are you just certain that they will beat 1 of those 4 teams?

Naz, until Naz can prove otherwise. Some teams just own others for whatever reason. Kinda like the A’s own the Sox.

I think they can beat Naz and BR to be honest. Both will be tough games and I am not guaranteeing wins i am just throwing out a confident opinion. Marist has seemed to have had Naz number lately, and Marist vs Rice is usually a very good game and could go either way. We shall see I guess.

OK I think we are kinda on the same page and 5.5 for the O/U may be right given a very tough schedule.

Where:
5 Wins would would be good, OK, decent
6 Wins would be very good
7+ Wins would be outstanding

Getting BR, MC, Naz 3 of 4 weeks is a tough draw. Marist has had Naz's number. I was at the Marist/Naz game last year with the odd start time and that was the Markett and Thompson show. Both are gone and McCarthy back of course for Naz. Really no breathers on the schedule either after the opener. Week 2 at Lake Zurich is going to be very telling.

O/U on the Hilltoppers?

Got to like the number 6 as being a tough call. 7 wins would seem really nice while 5 seems like we could have done better, but this is from a purely number outlook - nothing much more deeper than that.
