Huge week for the League. Enjoy your travels: Broncos can visit the Lovejoy Homestead. Caravan can visit nearby Hannibal and ride the Mark Twain Riverboat. And if you're going to the AMDG Bowl in Little Italy don't forget your little passport.

Prep Bowl:
ND @ Marist 6PM Thursday
Redhawks 34 Dons 12
Marian, Heights @ SR 7PM Friday
Mustangs 42 Spartans 14
3A:
#6 Lombard (Montini) (8-3) at #2 Princeton (10-1), Sat., Nov. 11, 1:00 pm
Broncos 28 Tigers 21
4A:
#11 Burbank (St. Laurence) (8-3) at #7 Elmhurst (IC Catholic) (9-2), Sat., Nov. 11, 4:00 pm
Knights 35 Vikings 20
5A:
#4 Chicago (Morgan Park) (10-1) at #8 Wheaton (St. Francis) (9-2), Sat., Nov. 11, 12:30 pm
Spartans 42 Mustangs 14
#15 LaGrange Park (Nazareth Academy) (6-5) at #6 Mundelein (Carmel) (10-1), Sat., Nov. 11, 2:00 pm
Corsairs 27 Roadrunners 26
#12 Joliet (Catholic Academy) (8-3) at #1 Morris (11-0), Sat., Nov. 11, 3:00 pm
Hilltoppers 35 Redskins 24
#3 Highland (10-1) at #15 New Lenox (Providence Catholic) (7-4), Sat., Nov. 11, 3:00 pm
Celtics 35 Bulldogs 21
7A:
#6 Chicago (Mt. Carmel) (10-1) at #3 Quincy (Sr.) (11-0), Sat., Nov. 11, 4:00 pm
Caravan 48 Blue Devils 13
8A:
#1 Wilmette (Loyola Academy) (11-0) at #24 Chicago (St. Ignatius) (8-3), Sat., Nov. 11, 3:00 pm
Ramblers 42 Wolfpack 10

Prep Bowl:

Marist 42 ND 10 (M -22)
Saint Rita 31 Marian Catholic 13 (M +28)

3A:
Montini 27 Princeton 10 (M -7):
This is where the brains will break about Montini being in 3A

4A:
Saint Laurence 31 Immaculate Conception 28 (SL +15):
Feeling an upset here and I have no explanation to why I do

5A:
Saint Francis 34 Morgan Park 20 (MP +28):
Saint Francis will win but I believe Morgan Park will make the Spartans earn it. Will be tight well into the 4th as well.

Joliet Catholic 30 Morris 26 (M +11): Love seeing old playoff rivals getting reacquainted! This is Buffoons GOTW in that it's old playoff rivals who aren't too far from each other and the whole town of Morris will be at the game. Special!

Nazareth 31 Corsairs 28 (N +1): This is another excellent game. The stalwarts against the up and comers. I am going with the Roadrunners in that Carmel really hasn't been overly battle tested and Naz is the zombie that just can't be contained come November.

Providence 34 Highland 17 (P -14): This is simply because Providence is conditioned for this time of year.

7A:
Mount Carmel 56 Quincy 7 (MC -35):
Fantastic to see a big, old school in Quincy having some really good football going. The reward this season? The Caravan

8A:
Loyola 38 Saint Ignatius 20 (SI +32):
With this being a rivalry game, I do think Ignatius will "hang around" but the Ramblers will ramble on

Go Football!

ND +22 rematches are fun even in the Prep Bowl
Rita -28 it is their Prep Bowl to lose

Montini -7 3A lol

IC -15 Getting them to admit they can and should play with higher enrollment schools is like pulling teeth but I think IC would still be alive and rolling in 5A or 6A. They roll here.

Morgan Park +28 too many points for a team with that much talent.
Carmel -1 They’re back.
Morris +11 JCA wins but they haven’t been tested in 22 days.
Providence -14 I have zero insight on this game so I’ll use this blurb to say all four 5A teams could still be kicking in 6A right now sans an ESL matchup

MC -35 get off the tracks..

Iggy +32 Much like the Rambler’s hoops team, Iggy is going to try and milk the hell out of the clock to get the victory. However in football this is acceptable. Justin Scott o/u 4.5 rushes??

Now back to some sanity.

Marist -22
St. Rita -28

Montini -7

StL +15 Interesting one here. I’d feel better to take IC if the line was minus 13 or 14. St. Laurence doesn’t have the fast break players they had when these two schools met in a crazy high scoring game in 2018 I believe but they do have the personnel to slop this game up and burn clock and put points at a premium so I’ll take the points.

MoPo +28 I’m already highly impressed with the St. Francis staff, team and QB. But man if they pull off a 29 point victory here, there’s no stopping them.

CoM -1 This is just a home field call. Naz is really a dominant home team. But the Corsairs’ size and home field give them the slight edge in just a great High School football game

Morris +11 Two storied programs. I don’t see too many fast break points so again with points at a premium, I’ll take the 11. I see Catholic winning tho.

Providence -14

Mount Carmel -35 Their D will be their D but add that offense that’s hitting on all cylinders and watch out

St. Ignatius +32 This one’s going to be an enjoyable, hard-hitting game. Probably a 2 hour game that Loyola wins 21 - 7

For the most part, Gambletron has sobered up on the spreads, but still decided to go hot/cold to test us this week.

Dons will cover
I see the Heights covering = barely.
Broncos
Vikes will cover Immaculate Recuperation.
I see the Mustangs keeping this one close.
After last week ... Rollsairs.
Redskins - GOTW of the southland.
Celts.
I see the Caravan winning - but 35 after a long bus ride? Blue Devils.
AMDG Bowl - could be a very interesting game. Wolfpack.

Prep Bowl:

Marist
Saint Rita

3A:
Montini -
Ready for this Byron everyone has been talking about

4A:
Saint Laurence -
I think this will be tight match, but SL with the win

5A:
Saint Francis Vs. Morgan Park
This is a big IDK, MP has some big threats running and catching the ball, Saints Francis doesn't make many mistakes this will go to the wire. SF has to control the clock, MP can score fast

Joliet Catholic
I've been hearing about this game since the bracket dropped, is Morris really back?

Nazareth - Carmel Catholic Conference is trash Respectfully, they aren't battle tested like Naz seems to be built for playoffs.

Providence -EASY

7A:
Mount Carmel -
MC is flying to Quincy and flying back. 'm ready for Batavia Vs. MC rematch sorry!!

8A:
Loyola
- Iggy has a shot, let Justin run the ball

I was at the MP/ Sycamore game if SF can burn the clock with the Run it will be tight game MP scores fast but you can wear that DLine down and limit possession
No part of SF will try and slow the game down.

5 dynamite receivers (2 with D1 offers), home run threat RB, big physical O-line, best QB in the state. Although this will be the first game all year SF won’t have a significant speed advantage, I’ll be curious to see how that plays out.

MP will give them all they can handle, but SF has too much firepower on O to change the way they play.

I think this will go about the same way it did for MoPo last year when they were supposed to give Naz a game.

Saw MC play MP, final was 22-12 but it was the worst game MC played all year and that’s including the LA loss. I don’t know if it was a let down game after ESL but Elliott had the worst game of this season….pretty much the only bad game, he threw 3 picks, 2 of them deep in MPs territory that should have been easy MC scores. Despite this, MC was up 22-0 mid way though the 4th and MP scored a TD to make it 22-6 and another one to make it 22-12 as time expired so MC was in no danger of losing. That being said, MP does have tremendous speed and some outstanding athletes, but they don’t have a complete team. They have some amazing players in each side and then the rest are just fill in’s. MP was a disciplined team vs MC, couple off sides but they play clean ball and are well coached. I think it’s a shoot out with SF winning late

I’m on my way out of town for the weekend (no not Quincy!) so here are my quick picks

MC of the Heights +28

Montini -7

SL +15

MP+ 28- lock of the week

Morris +11- Shoe in of the week

Carmel -1

Highland +14- throwing darts on this one

Quincy +35- MC wins comfortably but slow out of the gate after a long ride

SI +32.

Very clear that MP is disciplined and very well coached. SF will need to play their A game to win.

Good Morning to my CCL/ESCC brethren. Rainman Ramey come on down! What a week for the rookie! Problem is, take a look at, his picks, St. Francis/Morgan Park and Loyola/St. Ignatius are ambiguous. If you go first team mentioned, St. Francis pick is a loss, if you go with what he mentions about keeping it close, or down to the wire, or has a chance to make it a game, he gains Morgan Park but loses St. Ignatius. After further review, just giving him 9 points unless you guys read it differently. It reminded me of DMurphs first week when he nearly knocked down the perfect week but left a couple of scores as pushes.

Par was a brutal 5 so gaining on the field were the playoff current king ref ref, buffoon gets back to his winning ways, a couple sons of St. Rita of Cascia TLone and yours truly, the hard livin, hard chargin escc fan, Mr. November 80s Ram and Lou Holtz himself Tux.

I haven’t corrected it because I am just happy to have friends and also I associate a Tux with being a classy gentleman (which clearly I am ) or with Tucks Pads which helps hemorrhoids (which is also something I can be to certain people/fan bases) but it’s a family nickname and the tu is pronounced like the number 2.

That being said this is always my favorite thread every week. So thanks gents!
