Raby over Phillips

So if 7-9 of Penn State's top starters went down, does that mean North Central College has a chance?
This isn't even comparable. Silly at best. Furthermore, if NCC did beat Penn State with 7-9 starters out I wouldn't pretend NCC would beat or even be comparable to Alabama or Ohio State or Oklahoma or FSU or Clemson or USC or Oregon or Michigan or Florida or Notre Dame or Wisconsin or Georgia or UCLA--get the point?

Like I said, nice win for a 3A/4A public with basically half the football players in public schools in Chicago, but let's no super inflate what actually happened.

I wonder why people never mention the pedestrian performance vs Simeon?

I did, every play, like I sadi

I watched every play, 2 good athletic defenses going at each other. Phillips was clearly the better team but Simeon will be a tough out in the 8A playoffs.
I guess we just see 2 different things. I see a 1 and done with Simeon this year based on the close loss to OP-RF and what I saw against Phillips. And neither team looked clearly better. A quick looksie tells you Phillips' offense was the worst of Simeon's non con games.

I’ve always been slanted to a great defensive team. I know their offense is borderline lousy. I also think they win any playoff game they can score 14 points.

@dcaudle68 you're getting into arguments here like you do on IHSS...lol
On IHSS he's comparing Phillips to 3A/4A teams though. His arguments are more viable in that scenario.

They're not holding top 8A teams to 14 points unless 7-9 starters are out especially with an O that puts you in bad positions. I've seen this story play out 1st hand with a team with 4 Big 10 players on D and more D1 players.

Bones don't tell me that you're in IHSS guy ?

Raby comes out firing after Phillips 3 & Out! 78yd pitch and Catch to Phillips 2, 15yd penalty, false start, TIL, QB keeper for a Raby TD, 8-0 Raiders

Raby has some athletes, Phillips play man across the board.

Can't they find one guy to kick? Watching the semis last year I was astounded at how poor they were at that part of the game (I had heard their top kicker was hurt but not sure if it was true).

QB keeper for a TD, Raby returns the ensuing Kickoff for a TD 34-22 Phillips still late 3Q

I'd love for you to come up with that list, i'll be waiting.

Left tackle, Running Back, and Wideout makes 3. Who else are you going to add to the list?

For the record, Phillips won that game by playing fast, physical and disciplined. More athletic than LA and had a huge chip on their shoulders. They were the better team that night.

To provide clarity on the LA players situation...
Offense - missed exactly what you said. Should be noted that those three are all DI or DIAA players (Bullie injury/recovery makes his projection questionable). Two sophomore O linemen (RG, LG) starting in their 1st varsity game after playing freshman football last year...not quite ready for the big stage.

Defensive starters that did not play- C. Largey (FS), J. King (NG), P. Daniels (Sam OLB).

6 total. Just a number, no excuses.
