Here are my enrollment breakdowns for the hypothetical 5 class district proposal.
I had 459 schools in the district proposal, so the classes will be 92 in 5A, 92 in 4A, 92 in 3A, 92 in 2A, and 91 in 1A
Tossing around the idea of each class having 16 districts (number of teams per district will vary due to geography and other factors) and the top two teams in each district will advance to the playoffs. Only your district standings will count toward you making the playoffs.
In this hypothetical arrangement CPS has decided only to enter its Red Division teams into the district classifications. Every two years the four CPS schools with the worst overall record will drop down to the White divisions and be replaced by the best four White teams over the previous two years.
In this hypothetical scenario teams will be given the option to play in a higher classification, so example Mt. Carmel and ESL could opt into 5A.
I am working “opt up” teams now, which will change the classifications, but this is the preliminary idea.
Stay tuned to this thread for the opt ups later this week….
