Bears

You said you didn't think it would be a positive experience. Corey too. I don't see any harm in it.
I stand by what I said. It's been an entertaining show for years, but I don't see it as a positive experience for the team involved. There's a reason teams don't volunteer and they have to force teams to do the show.

Why is our OL already beat up? I mean they haven’t even played a game yet.
That line will not last through the season. Jenkins and Davis will most definitely get hurt. It's the O-line that may be the reason this team goes 7 - 11. If things work out, then 10 - 7 with a solid chance to win R1 Wildcard game. Now, let's do this!

My question is: will the starters play against Buffalo? If they don't, then what in the heck is Poles doing?
Will probably play a few series as the starters do in the first preseason game. The HOF game is an extra preseason game so the Bears and Texans each have 4 preseason games so that's the reason none of the starters played.

Pretty sure they said Williams would get about 50-60 plays through the preseason.

We need to shore up the line. I don’t like Eberflus but I did like him calling out the players. Really the OL. Basically telling them to toughen up. Grow a pair. These guys play OL it’s not like a RB, LB who take and give hits on almost every play.

Did you really just say OL don't get hit? They get hit by guys Like Aaron Donald, Micah Parsons, and the Bosa's on every play and they get their legs rolled up on more than anyone.

No one said it’s helps the team. I just think it’s so overblown that it does anything negative.
If it doesn't do anything negative then why aren't teams lining up to be on it? We as fans don't see all the inner workings of training camp but no team wants to deal with a full camera crew there the entire time.

We'll see how it goes, but episode 1 was very meh.
With a few exceptions, I found it to be pretty boring. I'm told that subsequent episodes will h.

If you're looking for a very well produced sports documentary, on HBO, watch the four part "Charlie Hustle."

Okay sure. You know what I mean. It appears we have some soft OL and I don’t have a problem with the coach calling them out.

I don’t see how it helps the team. The possibility to disrupt the team far out weighs anything that might improve the team.

Corey:

With all due respect, these guys aren't high school football players. They are professionals. If this is going to distract them they probably don't belong on the field because of a lack of concentration. I think it's a good thing in that it brings a team together. You know these guys are watching this series on TV or wherever and if I were any of the I would too. It's a long season and if this helps get them off on the right foot I am all for it. And again, the players and coaches are not bothered by the crew doing video and have said they are not in the way. If they aren't bothered, then the fans shouldn't be either. The players and coaches are the ones who have to go on the field and perform.

Did the Bears do enough this off-season to improve the offensive line? Or is it the same as usual??

Many of you prior to the draft said other positions were more important. Do you still really believe this?

I watched all the installments of "Charlie Hustle" and like Al Michaels said in the first episode when asked about the saga of Pete Rose, "it's sad." I agree.

Again, I will tell you. The players and coaches were asked about the crews at camp and NONE of them had a problem with it. They were actually surprised at how "invisible" the crews are. So, your statement about the Bears dealing with this is false.

It's been all of two weeks so far, we'll see if they love the camera crews by the end of camp. Where are these quotes from players and coaches regarding the crews?

Also, if they did say this, what do you expect them to say? They're just getting started with it and they're smart enough to know it would be a bad look to bash the production team from the very beginning.

I think the OL will be improved. They have two good, young tackles with another year of experience under their belt and they'll have a new Center as well. The only real question is the same one as every year, will Jenkins stay healthy? He is an above average to good Guard when he's on the field, the problem is he can't stay there.

It was in a Sun Times article. I don't see their attitude changing. It's not a matter of them loving the crews. They are surprised and pleased that the crews aren't in the way or interrupting the camp. Again, if the players and coaches are ok with it, then it really doesn't matter what anyone else says.

I think players and coaches have a distain for media in general...and sometimes with good reason. What I also think is, this is a more relaxed situation. It isn't practice before actual games so the atmosphere is different. They (Max) will see and show any dust ups that happen. But, as I said before, these are mostly puff pieces. This is like MLB spring training. Yeah, things can get serious. But when the actual season starting kickoff happens the world changes.

I doubt these guys enjoy being on this series. Interested to know if any of the previous teams asked to do it again? It’s good for the fans, I am not convinced it’s good for the team.

To the best of my knowledge the Raiders, I think, were the last team to volunteer. Every other team has been forced. With that in mind I don't think the teams want all the extra attention around training camp.

Thought Williams looked the part in his two drives. Would have liked to seen more than 2 FGs but he looked comfortable.
Two good things came out of his performance. 1 - He more than looked the part. 2 - he didn’t get dead.

It’s preseason.

I think his most impressive throw was to DJ Moore after the pocket collapsed.

Overall team looked good with a bunch of starters not playing.

Williams looked generally good, but he did have a pretty bad throw early in the 2nd drive that coulda been a pick 6

Illegal contact, need to see when that flag was tossed. He might had seen it and took the risk. Either way it was a “coulda”…
Yeah my only point was that in real time it looked rough. I guess I didn’t think about the free play aspect, and if he knew he had a free play then good on him, although usually those will be downfield shots.

Or the illegal contact made it look bad, I don’t know.

Kemet being #3 option is huge. I’m not including Rome yet since he’s a rookie.

Those are your opinions...which is fine. We all have opinions. I am sure some players may not like it that much. Others probably don't mind at all. And some players are probably in neutral. If preseason camp is going well, guys are staying healthy and the team looks good, then I would think the feeling toward the camera crews will be more on the positive side. In other words, they will give them a pass.

But if things aren't going well, guys are getting injured, (which is aggravating for the players and coaches) a lot of on field fights, etc. and it looks like the season might be a struggle, then I would imagine everyone would look at the camera crews in a more negative way, or as being in the way. Same crews, different settings.

And again, these guys are professionals and media presence is a given for all teams. If this throws them off their games I don't think I would put them on the field.

The NFL has changed since we were young men and the media presence has grown exponentially. It's more show time now than it has ever been...like it or not. Remember, there was no NFL channel years ago. Now you have coverage of some type 24/7.

Rome is 1B to DJ’s 1A. Rookie or not he’s different.
I was trying to prove a point that they are vastly different even without Rome. I agree he will be a stud.
Allen was 6th in league in receptions and 11th in yards last year. He and DJ are 1a/1b, IMO, right now. Rome might have the overall most god given talent.

I agree Keenan is great, but I think Rome talent and skillset will supercede any rookie transition and expect him to put up WR1 numbers immediately. I think you can take OVER on Rome’s TD output to the bank this year.
