What I seen was kick get off, and kicker got hit right after. Just my opinion it was the right call. I don't like it when refs get involved in a great game like this, but there are rules to protect the kicker regardless off team.

You start opening this can of worms you end up changing the entire system, and it may not be for the better. The simplest solution would be to let the higher seed choose home or away in round one in hopes of securing a home game later in the playoffs.
