Higher seeds should get the home game.

On this site CalPreps and Massey have been used for years to handicap games. I’d be perfectly happy using one or both or a combination of both to seed teams
Why not MaxPreps? That's what other states use. My issue with those two is we don't know what goes into their algorithm and how different aspects of the season are weighted, such as injuries.

How can you say that when you don't know what rankings the computer would spit out? When it was used in college the computers would love teams, such as Notre Dame, and it usually made no sense when the computers would have them, top 5, for example, but everyone who voted on the rankings would barely have them in the top 10.

How would the computers factor in public vs. private?

Look at a thread above didn’t he say he didn’t like when Refs were involved. Come on that to me is an excuse. Really Refs are involved. 😂
Refs involved is not an excuse but a matter of fact in sports. We are in a specific game thread and yes by calling a penalty there, whether deserved or not, was being involved in a pivitol point of this particular game, I don't care if you are for or against the call it's still being involved. Come on, its not that difficult of a concept. By the way I was there rooting for Montini but still a fan of football.

My personal opinion is that it was a tremendous game. One of the best I've seen in a good while. Byron had their chances but made too many mistakes early. It had zero to do with anything other than their own miscues. I'm not a fan of either team involved.
Doc,
We haven’t had issues in the past. I agree I may have jumped the gun when I saw the refs. We’re good. I don’t get the remark about LWE yes I am a huge fan but I don’t make excuses for them or fluff. Lol

It’s not perfect. 1-32 + computer ranked seeding wouldn’t be perfect either, but it would be closer to perfect than the current system.

DGN 13 Fenwick 10 final

Rough day for this officiating crew. Multiple penalties throughout the game that just should not have been called.

At the end, the DPI there was just not enough there to flag it. Direct impact on the outcome of the game. Bummer.

The “gun thing”, I saw it live. It was nothing egregious. Should have just told him to never do it again. Unless perhaps he had already received such warning earlier in the game. ???

I don't understand why people are so upset with the way the IHSA seeds teams. Using the above post as an example, if a team like a 5-4 JCA is a lower seen on the road to a 5 seed that is 7-2 and they win 59-0 then who cares if they were the lower seed on the road? They were obviously the better team and the seeding and where the game was is irrelevant.

It's not a perfect system, but it's tough to find one that is more transparent. You can start tracking from the beginning of the season and know where your team will be without question.

4A where’s you fight? He insinuated the refs were the reason. Sure he said that afterwards. Why even say it? Wow you really do have to have the last word.
He absolutely did not. He said he doesn't like when refs get involved, but the right call was made. He made an observation about one play. No where did he say or even insinuate that the refs decided the game.

No doubt it’s transparent and there is something to that I admit. I would just like to see it done taking into account more than just record/playoff points. Yea it wouldn’t be perfect. We can agree to disagree. But for the love of god can we get 1-32 at least.
