CS8 Playoffs Thread - Done and Dusted, Just Like Maroa...

All.... Hold on sir. Figuring out actual enrollment is a two year deal. Looking at past historical numbers the Cyclones will be on that bubble between 3A and 4A. I see them going 4A along with QND. It will be a different look for the Raiders in 2025 which Roamin' if he has time gearing up for Maroa next Saturday can speak about.... Ratsy
There's also this proposal submitted by Williamsville on behalf of the Sangamo Conference --

Summary of Proposed Changes: Removes the 1.65 multiplier and the multiplier waiver for all schools. Replaced with enrollments of non-boundary schools to be the average enrollment of all public/boundaried high schools that are above that school’s enrollment and within a 30-mile radius of the school.• In three (3) class sports, non-boundaried schools will not move more than one class higher than their multiplied enrollment from the previous enrollment cycle.• In sports of four classes or more, non-boundaried schools will not move more than two classes higher than their multiplied enrollment from the previous enrollment cycle.• The multiplied enrollment (1.65) will only be used to determine the initial placement in the 2024-2025 school year.

Something similar was submitted last year but I don't know if it was voted on or withdrawn. I also have no clue as to whether it would have a shot at passing.

False claim! Naz has played the following more physical teams this season Joliet Catholic Academy, Kankakee, St. Rita, Mount Carmel, & St. Francis
Over the years, I have rarely sided with Jwar, but I have to agree with him here. I have seen JCA, Rita and MC this year, and I have a really hard time believing that Rochelle is more physical than those teams.

Which game this weekend has you excited?

That’s an IHSA decision. 😔
I know its a big money grab, but don't they have any shame? NFHS gives a kickback to IHSA and to every other state agency they have a contract with, leaving no money for equipment or technical support. At the Better Business Bureau, NFHS averages one star out of five--and that's because the reviewers can't give zero stars.

CPL Pick 'Em CPL SEMI FINALS EDITION! With BONUS IHSA Playoff Pick!

CPL Semi Finals! Only 2 Glorious weeks left of CPL on CPL football. While that makes me sad, the slate is full of newcomers to the party! Outside of Kenwood, I'm not sure any of these teams have ever made it this far in the CPL tournament. If Indiana can do it in the Big Ten, no reason one of these upstarts can't do it in the CPL! On to the picks!

Amundsen vs Whitney Young
The team that plays in the home of the Lululemon wearing, Pumpkin Spice sipping, stroller crowd is actually playing the team with the moms that make up the Lululemon wearing, Pumpkin Spice sipping, Stroller crowd! I bet this will have Illinois' highest concentration of women wearing those stocking caps with the fake fur pom-poms outside of the north shore this weekend.
Spandex!!

Kenwood vs Lincoln Park
Kenwood with a huge upset of Simeon last weekend. Lincoln Park with the big win over Payton. Kenwood won the CPL a few years ago, Lincoln Park has never really found the correct blueprint to success. This is the early game at Lane, so I'm heading over to Waveland bowl. I've got a buddy that is in an early Saturday morning league, and he reports that they get a break on the price of pitchers. I can't confirm or deny this information, but I'm thinking it's a good way to start what looks to be a gorgeous mid November day in the city.
More Old Style!

IHSA PLAYOFF EDITION!!!!
Morgan Park vs Morris

CPL What?? Gately Dogs cooking... End Zone BBQ Guys smoking... Red Coat security wanding the marching bands..... Welcome to the CPL Morris! If you want some advice about attending. 1- Get there early. Security will be slow...and unfriendly. Be prepared. 2- Bring cash for Gately Dogs. An experience like none other. 3- Don't mill about in the stands or by any fences. The announcer will chastise you - Loudly - over the loudspeaker. And don't worry about the smell of the garbage transfer station next to the field. Nothing to see - or smell - there. (Unless the wind is blowing correctly)
CPL!!

Stop trying to sandbag like Tuccs!
Often imitated, never duplicated. Franny by 2 scores at the very least and hopefully Naz can make it through the most physical opponent they will have ever seen in school history so we can have a rematch of week 9. Though I feel Franny has to be favored BIG in the rematch given the way they converted 4th downs and fake punts in week 9. Naz is going to be lucky just to be on the same field should they get their shot.

Feeto's Friday Upset Special.....

Playing with house money: If there is a true upset it will be Chatham defeating a powerful EStL Flyer team. Will it happen? Needle in the haystack of a possibility but...
~ EStL has to play on the road and on grass!
~There will be zero home cooking by the officials
~Common opponent scoring is close and comparable.

The above means absolutely nothing unless Chatham plays error free ball without pissing themselves like in 2019... getting down 28-0 by halftime in EStL. Looking at this game there are ways to beat EStL just as there were ways of defeating Iron Mike Tyson when he was 20 it just never happened. But, IF... the Titans pull off the upset it would have to go down as one of the greatest upsets giving the snowball chance in Hades they have been given.

I hope whoever wins has zero injuries going forward!

Which game this weekend has you excited?

I'm interested in all these games. In some, the interest rises to the level of excitement. Will watch, or at least keep an eye on, as many as I can.

MS v. LA
SR v. Quincy
Batavia v. DGN
MC v. Normal
LF v. Geneva
JCA v Peoria
Naz v. Rochelle
SL v. DP
Montini v. Princeton

But why must NFHS get involved with an MC home game? The game will be announced by the Caravan but broadcast by NFHS, the scourge of the playoffs for years. With them, there is a 50% chance of a catastrophic failure and a 100% chance of a production that's inferior to YouTube.
That’s an IHSA decision. 😔

St Francis @ Sycamore

Fair assessment, but how many conferences outside of the the CCL/ESCC have 3 quarterfinalists in one class outside of the I8? Naz will beat Rochelle but Rochelle will be the most physical team they've faced. Morris is down but made the quarters.

At worst the I8 has 3 quarterfinalists in 5A, at best it's an all I8 final.

You can question Sycamore's schedule but they only have 4 fewer "playoff points" than StF. So their schedule strength isn't that far off.
The playoff points is interesting but Loyola/Naz/Rita….and what Syc has Rochelle and a good but not great Morris squad? I’m taking your opinion on Morris, haven’t seen them.
