Bears

I would like to know what happened to the Bears run defense? I mean it’s been awful this year. Yes the defense tightens up when the other team gets into the red zone but man they put themselves in bad situations by not stopping the run. The OL blows but I knew that going into the season but our defense was one of the better defenses especially against the run.

Cary-Grove 18 Praire Ridge 12 FINAL

Wish the Fox Valley would move to 2 Five team divisions allowing these two teams a Week 1 or 2 non-conference game. Would love to see them early in the year against some different schools.
How would you like to divide them:
1) Enrollment:
Group Big) Huntley. Jacobs. Dundee-Crown. Hampshire. McHenry.
Group Little) Crystal Lake South. Prairie Ridge. Crystal Lake Central. Cary-Grove. Burlington Central.
2) Location:
Group North) McHenry. Prairie Ridge. Crystal Lake Central. Cary-Grove. Crystal Lake South.
Group South) Huntley. Hampshire. Burlington Central. Dundee-Crown. Jacobs.
3) Location Again:
Group West) Burlington Central, Hampshire, Huntley, Jacobs. Crystal Lake South.
Group East) Cary-Grove. Dundee-Crown. Crystal Lake South. Crystal Lake Central. McHenry.

CALPREPS STATUS - SEE ILLINOIS LINK IN THREAD

SHUTDOWN NOTICE: As many fans of our site know, we are contracted to provide data (national schedules/scores/ratings/projections/league+division alignments) to MaxPreps. Recently, for the eighth time since aquiring MaxPreps in 2007, CBS went back into breach and is willfully refusing for some unknown reason to act in a legal fashion and honor their legal/contractual obligations in terms of paying money owed to calpreps. We are out of funds at this point and have been forced to cease operations.

As you'd expect, we are in the process of suing CBS to recover owed monies plus damages, but that will no doubt not be resolved until many months or years after the conclusion of the 2024 playoffs, so we encourage any section/state associations who were relying on our ratings in order to run your playoffs this season to apply any pressure you may have the pull to apply to the rogue CBS accounting department, to attempt to presuade them to finally start to act in accordance with federal contract law. Thank you and we're sorry it's come to this, but frankly it was destined to never work with a company owned by CBS. We hope to partner with a non-CBS owned company in future seasons, but it's presumably not reasonable to expect that a deal could be struck with another company during the 2024 season, but if you are such a company and have interest, are ears are certainly open.

How to make the Southwest Valley Conference even better long term

You would need an even amount in the Southwest Prairie so no Morris or you need to find one more if you added Metea and Stagg and not sure if they’d leave their district counterparts.

But an East Division of Bolingbrook, Romeoville, Joliet West, Joliet Central, Stagg, Metea and Plainfield Central would be kind of fun. Some echoes of the old SICA Gray there. You could always push Plainfield Central out West if you wanted to go to 16 if adding either Andrew and Sandburg from 230, or Neuqua and Waubonsie from 204 was on the table. Still would be a shorter drive than games in Bradley or DeKalb for those schools.

I genuinely have no idea how Metea wasn’t bumped to the Southwest Valley Red and swapped out with a Lincoln-Way West or Central who could compete in the Southwest Valley Blue.

Southland teams wouldn’t be likely to come into the Southwest Valley I agree unless they are tired of needing to fill that random Week 3-9 game and if Crete-Monee and Kankakee want more competition prior to playoff time.
Add Morris and Sandwich.
Not quite the SICA Gray, no Andrew and no need for one either 😏
