"...focus on guarding the horse glue." Now that is crossing the damn line!!!! My mascot was "the Pony" and I take great offense sir!!! LOL Ullr is our god of sports and he gifted things to those who showed skill, especially in the hunt. The most important is that each show hospitality toward competitors or combatants. Anyone who shows their asses get what's coming to them by lacking in hospitality!I think you're mad. You commented early on in another thread about the days before the magic began clicking when QND roughed up and beat up the fledgling Rockets. Bragging about kids getting injured. All you've done since 2009 is average a 6-4 record.
I don't insult the kids. I insult your POS town and its inability to attract quality families to your program. You are the antithesis to all of the arguments about football/basketball recruiting in private school high school sports. People WANT to go to Mount Carmel. People WANT to go to St. Rita. People WANT to go to St. Laurence. People WANT to go to SHG. Hell, people WANT to go to ESL. Meanwhile, in 30 years, you've gone from a 2A to a 3A to a long tenure in 4A, back to a 2A program. Families have a choice to send their kids to you and they AREN'T. That's a culture issue. And much of it has to do with the fact Quincy resembles a Sasquatch sized turd on the river. Families are literally choosing to go to your neighboring school with it's embarrassing 12.8% college readiness rate rather than pay anywhere from $2300 to $4100 per year (after assistance) to send their kids to a supposed "better" school. QHS Reading ACT scores average 19.6 while QND averages 21.5. Two points better and barely a point better than the state average?!?! And before you opine, I looked up my Jesuit institution's average... 28. As a product of a Jesuit education, you embarrass the rest of us who find value in educational and athletic achievements as a cornerstone for future success. And to hear your constant "woe is me, we're smaller than everyone else, we're trying" nonsense is painful as it screams beta energy.
And no, Lincoln and U-High don't get this kind of joy. U-High was amazing last night and wasn't trying to injure their opponent as you so bragged about in your "days of glory" 20 years ago. Minus the one alcoholic parent who paid a visit to the Rochester bleachers in Lincoln, the Railers have been light years more reasonable and understand basketball is where they will be strong in the CS8.
So, your braggodocio comments of a time long ago have been heard and you're still on the hook to explain your woeful existence. I hope your squad makes it to the playoffs. A group of us will be on the Maroa Forsyth side laughing as we watch your tearful playoff exit while you bitch about the refs. And I hope the Gods will make it happen for Maroa to destroy your ego on your home turf. Which brings to mind another item.... how is it you were so dominant within the confines of that shithole we call Quincy, but squeaked by in your only trip outside of the county? Normal put up 30. Rochester put up 38. SHG put up 50+. Chatham put up 37.
Go back into your limestone mine along the river and focus on guarding the horse glue.
This same Althoff team lost in the quarters of 1a last year. There is no need to make excuses about the outcome and accept there is work needed defensively to be successful later in the year. When you consider they have full platoons aside from CJ - the D1 DB/WR - allowing Dierre to concentrate on O and Dowell on the DLine, they have to be up there.
When this board discussed what positions you'd want a 5star to be, DL and RB were the spots. Dierre showed out that game and Dowell got sacks - it was just YAK away from Charleston that KILLED the Crusaders that night. They drove up that afternoon after a big city game - first in 29 years - against an 8A team. I think they were looking past TU a bit.
That boy got a couple snaps last year against ESL when Elliot went out for a short stint, yes?Did I not see another Dowling play last night? He looked very much like his brother to me.
Or 2!😂Score 3 points and you'll probably get one!
12 - STNRank em 12-10-8-6-5-4
Carol Stream (Glenbard North) at Roselle (Lake Park)
Geneva at Batavia
St. Charles (East) at St. Charles (North)
Wheaton (Warrenville South) at Wheaton (North)
Downers Grove (North) at Elmhurst (York)
Providence Catholic @ Chicago (Marist)
York and Lyons are both 4-0. I know very little about that league, but it seems like there's been a lot of positive comment about both those teams this fall, but I clearly could be wrong about those two squads.
Not the first time I’ve seen you post this nonsense. DGN the #1 team in the State besides maybe ESL. Your afraid of MC? You’re lucky you don’t play LWE.I just hope that MC and DGN are on opposite sides of the bracket… you never know with the IHSA
I shall change it. Thanks.Saw game on YouTube with like 3 min to go saw it at 43-6 nd was in red zone.
I don't know, the coach must have a short memory. In 2021 he took a (13-0) Tolono Unity team to the championship game of 3A..... where they lost 35-7 to unbeaten Byron.I dont follow Tolono, but i cant imagine they have faced teams with 3 P5 dudes. So, its not a completely ridiculous claim by their HC.
It's 1-32 seeding so the IHSA has no control over that. If DGN can go undefeated, then I wouldn't be surprised if they or Batavia (assuming they beat Geneva) could be potentially the 1 & 2 seeds, respectively in 7A.I just hope that MC and DGN are on opposite sides of the bracket… you never know with the IHSA
Well I am going to agree that the game would not end well for Minooka most years. However, that is a game that would do nothing positive for Joliet Catholic were it to be scheduled. Minooka has become a decent-ish program and it would be a fun neighborhood game, but that is where the appeal ends.Same here, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say minooka don’t want none of jca if you know what I mean!💪

Agree. It’s over now. If you’re SF you gotta stop burying yourself early in games like you have in the last two, try and win 3 out of the last 4 to get a decent seed for playoffs and learn from this game.So call an infraction that doesn’t exist in HS football? That’s my rub, they didn’t know that penalty doesn’t exist in HS. They should have called unsportsmanlike since it was egregious…
Anyways….it’s over now.
They actually did SF a favor by not calling it unsportsmanlike. Same result with a down used and a stopped clock, but only got walked off 5 instead of 15.

They should have called unsportsmanlike since it was egregious…Sounds to me like they were trying to avoid a punt. If they wanted to do that, they could have run a play. The refs will absolutely not allow a team to eat a few ticks off the clock, while telling the defense to stand down.

The refs will absolutely not allow a team to eat a few ticks off the clock, while telling the defense to stand down.He took two steps back, paused for a second and then took a knee. It wouldn’t have changed the fact that SF without doing that could have still run out the clock. It’s an official inserting himself and influencing the outcome of a game that was otherwise already decided on the field. SIU stated it perfectly above - like pulling someone over for doing 31 in a 30.
Did you also talk to them at all about the fact they called a dropped pass the game winning TD? I’m not one to normally rag on the officiating but they were fairly awful for both sides all night.
Would like to see Minooka play JCA too.

SIU stated it perfectly above - like pulling someone over for doing 31 in a 30.Talked to a zebra at my son's freshman game about this, one of the guys was on that crew. When a knee is declared, the refs tell both sides to back off. He said the SF QB took the snap and stood there for a few seconds before kneeling. While the delay did occur during the play, they consider it a dead ball foul, because otherwise, it would just help the offending team run the clock out. Theoretically, an offense could keep doing that, and it would always be 1st down, and keep running game time off the clock.
