Looking at all the FCS stadiums in the country, they start around 2k and there are a lot between 2,000 and 7,000.

Yes, they would need to make their seating meet the "permanent" definition on their baseball field, but I don't think capacity would be an issue. Gately is way bigger than is necessary.

I say, play on the baseball field for now. Then use Gately or SeatGeek if the FCS playoffs are ever achieved (I know that is a pipedream at this point). As far as I can tell, the facilities requirements at FCS only kick in for playoff hosting and they are fairly nebulous at that.

If this is part of a proactive long-term strategy to turn things around at CSU, then I can buy that and even give them credit for it. Unfortunately, I don't think that's the case. I think it is much closer to a reactive grasping at straws and desperate times calling for desperate measures.

Looking at the basketball season they just completed the largest home crowd they drew was 525 and the smallest was 101 so I don’t see anyway that even home games aren’t a $$ loser. The over under on this program existing has to be in the 5-6 year range.

I do like the attitude Jaylon Johnson has when he talks about the hype surround this team, this year. "Hype don't win you no games. So, for me, if it's not about winning, quite honestly, I don't really care about it." "I'm going to get excited when we win in November. And December. And when we change some things and get into the playoffs. That's when I 'm going to get excited."

I don't doubt there are other players who feel the same way. But, it is always refreshing to hear a guy say this out loud. Some of the fans need to hear this too. Yep. There have been some moves made and a lot of dialogue. But, until that team really moves forward and this translates into wins and playoff appearances I am not getting too excited either.

Where are they getting the money for all of this ? If they want to get more students enrolled, why don't they look into a two year technical program to get job skills to the next generation. IC has an extremely tough schedule again and coming off a rough year but they will be a team you can't sleep on.

BR, Providence both loaded with young talent and will be tough to beat. That BR schedule is a juggernaut though. Playing in the CCL Blue with Rita as one of their crossovers and playing Valpo and Marist for their two non cons.

I highly doubt they are winning state in Illinois in any of those years.

I think you get a few year reprieve from the requirements but ya that place is not gonna work unless rebuilt.
