LWC 49 Hoffman 28 final

Great win for the LWC Knights but they lost in the locker room. Hoffman Estates decided to gather some momentos to take back home. I can remember a similar situation at Crete-Monee which I believe involved Brother Rice losing some goodies. Not a good look for the schools but nothing compared to Hillcrest HS.
Not a good look for Hoffman Estates.

St Francis @ Sycamore

If weather holds up, and SF can slow down the run, idk how you cover 100 yards by 53.5 with the 3 all-CCL WR's SF has on offense... not to mention a few other weapons they have.. lots of firepower. Will be a great game, Sycamore is legit. But speed kills... Catholic Spartans by 2 scores
I might be wrong, but I thought Syc had a couple kids on FB team from 4x100 state team from last year. I'm pretty sure I heard that.

Bears

Four years ago, this kid was playing high school football.

He was all hyped up by the media and fans, and that served to raise expectations to an unrealistic level. I just don't think that 9 games into a rookie season, and with precious few exhibition game snaps, we ought to be passing judgment on this kid.

He is facing the same fate that all recent highly touted Bears QBs have faced: a mediocre at best O line. It boggles my mind how the Bears keep making the same mistake over and over again for what seems like DECADES.

For the record, I was among those who wished the Bears had kept Fields, traded down, acquired more picks, and used them to draft and/or trade for talented O line players to protect him.
I couldn’t agree with you more about keeping Fields, or letting Bagent start, and acquiring draft picks to build a strong O-line.

Any insights on Normal?

I just watched Normal v Prospect. They had numerous breakdowns in the secondary which would not be a good formula vs Elliott. MC starts out slow so I could see Normal score first then it should be all MC. Their OC had some issues snapping the ball. I liked their QB and #5 was solid. MC at home, not seeing much of an issue. I think gambletron has score just about right.

Higher seeds should get the home game.

I thought that if the highest ranked Group of 5 Champion was ranked ahead of a Power 4 Champion then they would get a top 4 seed and a first round bye. For instance, if Boise State were to finish ranked 9th and the ACC Champ were 10th, Boise State would get the #4 seed and a bye. I could be wrong though.

PAIRINGS

  1. The four highest-ranked conference champions will be seeded 1, 2, 3 and 4 and will receive byes in the first round. The remaining eight teams, including the fifth conference champion, will be seeded 5 through 12 based on their final ranking. If the fifth conference champion is not ranked among the top 12 teams, it will be seeded at No. 12.

Higher seeds should get the home game.

The top four seeds will always be the champions of the Big Ten, SEC, ACC, and Big Twelve Conferences. That is true regardless of where those four champions are ranked.

Bears

Time to throw ⎯Pro Football Focus recorded Williams at 3.44 seconds in 2022 and 3.21 seconds in 2023. Williams was sacked 63 times (2022-2023).

Only seven NFL QBs are over 3 seconds (NEXT GEN STATS). Bears’ QB Justin Fields was the slowest (3.23 seconds). Fields was sacked 99 times (2022-2023).
Not exactly sure the point of this post, but you can't compare college numbers to pro.
