St. Francis defeated the Golden Warriors 42-28 in Week 2. How will the rematch play out?

1-yd. run caps methodical drive off opening kickoff for WSF. 7-0 with 8 something left in 1st quarter.

Sterling's has a nice drive on its opening possession end with a fumble in WSF territory.

Sterling drives inside the WSF 10 only to have a D lineman intercept a pass on the first play of the second quarter.

Bit rough when you have D-ends doing one handed interception while they are falling down.

WSF fake punts from deep in its own territory, Completes a pass which put it across midfield.

Millivojevic with a TD pass to Beres. 21-0 7:00
WSF then onside kicks and recovers it.

50-yd TD pass Sterling Nettleton to Klaver. Extra-point failed. Penalty Sterling gets 2nd chance. Goes for 2. Klaver run. 28-8. 2:49 left in first half.

Sterling fumbles with 1:19 left in second quarter. Third turnover and a onside kick.

This could have actually been a game but 2 key things SF did that caught Sterlings special teams off guard. SF fake punted on 3-21 deep in Golden Warrior end zone and picked up the 1st down that led to a TD and then on side kicked when they were up 21-0, recovered it and scored off that as well. Sterling did not punt the entire first half
Because they have moved the ball very nice all game but turned it over 3 times.

Even if Sterling only turns it over a couple times this is a close ball game…SF hasn’t exactly stopped Sterling’s offense outside of punching / stripping the football.

SF offense has moved the ball well but man they have to either protect Alessio better or get the ball out quicker. Taking too many hits.

Outside of the turnovers no part of me is shocked Sterling almost beat Quincy.

Sterling's annoncer seemed to indicate the Golden Warriors have no intention of keeping St. Francis as their week 2 opponent next season. Wonder why?

Another interception by Pickler ball is returned to the Sterling 1.
Pickler than scores on a 1-yd. run. 49-8 1:50 left in third quarter. Running clock

Always fun to watch another season of Sterling football. Good luck the rest of the way St. Francis, you have an incredible team.

SF is clicking at the right time. Man did they look good in the 2nd half…if there’s a better quarterback in the state than Alessio id like to see him. A ton of credit to the coaching staff for how St. Francis has grown this season. They’re a different animal than the first 6 weeks.

A really tough test against a very athletic Morgan Park team next weekend, glad it’s at home. One game at a time.
