Sorry if you read it that way, your free to look at it anyway you want but my response to the poster was in reference to his comment that MC has difficulty with any team with a "decent" QB and I was pointing out that just about every team MC faced has had not only a decent QB but an well above average QB. It doesn't matter that they Iggy QB doesn't throw much, he runs his offense perfectly or he wouldn't have merited those honors. So the Soph QB from Batavia won't be anything MC hasn't seen numerous times. This absolutely reads like a hater comment because MC has faced better cumulative QB competition than most teams outside of the CCL/ESCC. But to put some context to the accolades as a measuring stick for talent…
There are no honorable mention all conferences and their are no “1st team” all conferences. Iggy passes maybe 8x a game if they are chasing points. 3/4 QBs in Benets division made all conference (same w/ Rita. Somehow SF QB didn’t get it, but coach did give it to their 3 WRs)
Also the CCL does award Honorable Mention, I know that because we have a plaque in our house that my son was honored with years ago. Maybe saying 1st Team was wrong but that was to show it wasn't honorable mention. Go to most teams Twitter or X sites or their schools athletic sites and they will list the Honorable Mentions on some for the CCL. Here is Loyolas Hon Mentions from this past season.
