This may get me booted from the site for not sticking to football, but it is at least "Running Clock" related....I see St Laurence put a running clock on an opponent last night - apparently first year for the rule?? - if up by 30 in 4Q, clock runs I guess - I did not get the memo!

Seems silly to me. It's not a health issue like it can be in football.

agreed - HS BB usually only takes just over an hour anyways - I saw the St L tweet with final score and running clock comment 50 minutes after tip-off. But what really sucks is that the bench gets jobbed of playing time (as in football) - the simple act of shooting 2 free throws can chew about a minute

They used to have this years ago and the coaches squashed it. Heard it was backa gain this year.

Good for deadlines...

A ref at a recent game explained the logic - typically the hard fouls and chippiness are more likely in blowouts so the idea is this may help with that. We will see.
