Great camp well run and the rain went away early on last night at North Central College ion downtown Naperville.

This was hosted by the North Central College coaches along with the entire Iowa State staff, a few grad assistants from Michigan (guess we don't rate to draw actual coaches?) plus coaches from Illinois State and a few smaller schools.

Overall numbers? Id say around 200 or so maybe closer to 225....again just the right amount of kids here.

So who impressed?

Class of 2017

WR Darrion Conrad Addison Trail- the only real negative when it comes to Conrad and his recruiting stock is his height. Conrad is a baller, has great speed and quickness and hands.

DB Nick Foster Montini- again one of the better performers here. Foster is also a tweener when it comes to size and position at the next level. Safety? Corner? Regardless Foster has game and impressed.

TE/WR Brendan Niewinski Notre Dame- good sized kid, moved well in drill work and also looked to have good hands. Will no question go back and look into Niewinski after this camp performance.

S Zyon Bell Bolingbrook- been watching Bell for awhile now, Bell has great size and tools. Didn't have much junior tape yet his eyeball passing look along makes coaches look harder at him. At minimum I can see some FCS and D2 schools end up offering Bell.

QB Jeremy Hunt OPRF- still has great size and tools. Wouldn't be surprised to see some college coaches try to give hunt more looks at say another spot on the field this summer? Passing/mechanics has improved from last season but needs to continue to work on overall accuracy.

WR Martez Malone Providence- again a great looking kid on the hoof who had avery solid performance here. Malone has all the tools and also has upside....just get the feeling that FCS level and below will want to see Malone early senior tape.

RB/ATH Michael Kennedy Mount Carmel- was easily one of the best performers here. Really, really impressive kid who has speed and is just a fluid runner and athlete. Worked out at RB and also did very well in various drill work. I can easily see Kennedy land some eventual FCS levels.

DE Sean Kuhn Yorkville- first time seeing Kuhn upclose and no question he lasses the eyeball test. Kuhn was easily one of the better overall defensive end types at this camp. Kuhn has good speed and quickness and has a chance to add some FCS and D2 level offers this summer.

OG Nick Bart Barrington- big strong OG type who also is a very strong one on one performer. Bart is at his best in these camp settings and showed his abilities in various drill work.

WR Eric Rooks DeLaSalle- still not sure if Rooks ends up as a WR or TE but whatever the spot Rooks has game and ability. Has good hands and ball skills and just seems to get bigger and stronger every time I see him.

OT Evan Day Batavia- might be one of the more underrated names here. Has OT size and shows good mobility, bend and is just very fluid for a kid so large. Battled all in one on ones and more than held his own.

RB Ty Hoosman Plainfield North- just a very solid running back and athlete type. Runs well and does a lot of good things in drill work as well.

QB Jaylon Banks Oswego East- very steady and showed some speed and overall athletic abilities.

OT Isaac Hawn St. Charles North- might of had the best overall camp of all. Already had good size and looks to have gotten even stronger this spring. Hawn goes all out on every rep and just plays with a mean streak I honestly didn't see much of last season live. Would not be surprised to see Iowa State and other Power 5 schools offer Hawn is they see him in person this summer.

OG Jake Stover St. Rita- Stover is having a great spring/summer. Stover shows his best in one on ones and did well here. Coaches love his overall fundamentals and Stover just goes against all comers. Just keeps improving his stock with every camp.

OL Dan Doninak Waubonsie Valley- big strong interior guy. Not sure which level he will wind up playing at but is worth a look here.

TE Payton Campbell Gryaslake North- good sized kid ran well and looked good in drill work. Almost looks like a kid who could also play DE as well. Performed well her and I'll definitely go back and watch the video.

TE/DE Christian Sampleton Nazareth Academy- position has been the biggest issue for Power 5 schools with Sampleton. Sampleton split time at TE and DE and played well at both spots. Just not sure if Sampleton has really separated himself yet to one spot or the other....but again showed well here.
