Monday night was the started the first of three North Central College camps which has become one of the best overall camps within the Chicagoland area. The NCC camp always draws a ton of college coaches and this session was stacked. I counted nearly 40 different schools represented at this camp including some bigger names schools led by Minnesota, Cincinnati, Missouri, Illinois plus NIU along with multiple FCS level schools who also brought several staff members. The camp set up includes check in, a testing phase and the competition phase. The NCC staff does an outstanding job of running this camp and things are just well run. well organized and everyone makes you feel welcomed. This is also a great time for NCC, coming off a 2019 D3 championship and a great chance to show off it's impressive campus and facilities.

As usual....I do my best to watch and see as much as I can...but the sheer numbers along with the camp being spread out all over the campus at NCC makes it nearly impossible for me to watch and evaluate the nearly 300 plus kids in attendance at this event...and I do my best to see as much as I can within reason.

New: My Take NCC Camp Part 1 Class of 2022

Who Stood Out?

Class of 2022

OT Yaser Al Awadi Maine East- Has Power 5 offers and is a name who will need to continue to improve and develop over the next 12-18 months. Yaser still a relatively newcomer to football who has made some great strides in his game but still has room to improve. Al Awadi need to get and take as many reps as he can this summer, get more aggressive overall and be just a more consistent player. Al Awadi's overall physical tools and upside (6-foot-8, 320 pounds) are unquestioned.

OL Bubba Hubbard Bartlett- Easily one of the best and most consistent linemen at this camp. Hubbard is a good sized kid who moves really well and is fundamentally sound. Hubbard has added several early D2 offers and I feel he has the overall potential to become a strong FCS level OG/OC in my opinion. I love his motor and he;s always looking to get reps and more work in these camps.

OL Mack Indestad Lemont Another name to watch this summer and also this fall. Indestad has a big frame and great length (6-foot-7, 240 pounds) and his overall technique is greatly improved. Schools will no doubt keep Mack on it's recruiting radar and hopefully Mack can continue to add needed weight and size over the next 12-16 months. Mack's overall upside is impressive on several levels but still has work to do.

OL Max Jablonski Wheaton South- A lunch box/blue collar linemen who just shows up and generally performs well. Jablonski has really good hands and punch, knows how to use his technique well and will increase his recruiting stock this summer.

DE Jacob Anderson DuPec- Anderson, who recently committed to Illinois State showed really well here. Anderson has really good size/frame and will no question get bigger and stronger over the next year plus. Anderson was also impressive in one on ones and has a nice mix of speed, overall quickness, size and power. I also like Anderson's potential upside and he has a frame that will allow him to add more good weight and strength at the FCS level.

WR Dane Partridge Marmion Academy -Steady Eddie when it comes to his camp performances. Partridge runs well, has good feet and explosiveness and his routes are also consistently strong. Partridge has also showed good hands in these settings and he still will continue to add more weight and size over the next year plus. Partridge to me has that higher academic FCS level ability to me.

WR Jack Tremblay Lincoln Way East- Jack is another name who keeps getting better and better this summer. Tremblay always runs well and did again at this camp. Tremblay has great hands, has impressive body control and just seems to make play after play. Outside of maybe being already college ready physically, I really don't see very many issues/knocks here and I see Jack becoming another high academic level FCS level recruit.

WR Malik Armstrong Minooka Landed a handful of FBS offers after this camp and it was pretty evident why that happened. Armstrong has good size, height and length and backed up his potential by running and testing extremely well here. Armstrong has good hands, wiggle and burst and he will also have the ability to add more good weight and size over the next year plus. Armstrong still has room to improve and get better and combine that with his evident physical tools and upside and he's a FBS level name in this class.

WR Jashawn Johnson Hoffman Estates- Has great speed, wiggle and burst and is an ideal slot type in the right offense. I can also see Johnson get more looks and attention as a cornerback along with having the ability to also become involved in the return game as well.

DT Kevin Frazier Brother Rice Kevin remains a bit of a mystery when it comes to an eventual college position, and has been flip flopping between DL and LB over the past year plus. Frazier worked on the DL here and was really strong in one on ones. Frazier has really good speed and quickness and is also highly advanced in his overall technique. Regardless of position, Frazier is a grinder type who just always comes ready to play and looked strong here.

DE Suleiman Abuaqel Fenwick An interesting name on the rise. Suleiman positionally is a bit of a tweener (DE/LB) who worked as a defensive end at this camp. Abuaqel was strong in one on ones and positional work and he also has the frame to get bigger and stronger over the next 12 months or so. Abuaqel's overall game was strong and it will be interesting to see his physical development this coming fall and beyond.

DE Connor Murphy Glenbard South- Another consistently strong performer camp in and camp out. Murphy has impressive speed, size and quickness along with great overall technique who just gets after it here. Murphy has really proven everything he has to prove at this stage in my mind and he's a FBS/FCS level name who will becoming an impact player in the right system.
