It sure isn't public schools in Illinois. Some may make over $100k, but that's because of their teacher's salary and not what they make for coaching.

Head coaches AND their varsity assistants who have a full academic load in one of the "solid" subjects have a tough job worthy of an extra stipend. The daily preparations and assessments for the classroom and the field make for a crazy few months.

The first-year Division Chair for Health, PE & Drivers Ed at Sandburg, Sheamus Murphy, came over from Blue Island Eisenhower after a few seasons of decent results as Head FB Coach there. Maybe he has some candidates in his pipeline.

I thought BB had a larger AA population in their past and it's now mostly a black flight from brown (soccer and perhaps cricket) apart from the holdouts. HF is part of the south suburban shed where it's basically just W to B but has been resilient income wise at least, this occurrence being better short and medium term for football. That's what I'm guessing.

I guess he primary responsibility will be whatever subject he is teaching! Crazy since Coaching isn’t a profession in Illinois. At least that’s what I’m being told.
