It sure isn't public schools in Illinois. Some may make over $100k, but that's because of their teacher's salary and not what they make for coaching. What states, just curious especially since you mentioned most states. I assume TX is one of them.

It is at Mt.Carmel and MaristThat is absolutely false that their primary role is coaching.
And Rice and Rita and many other schools......they all have other duties such as admissions, school development, recruiting, fund raising, ect. But there main job is coaching. It is at Mt.Carmel and Marist

Head coaches AND their varsity assistants who have a full academic load in one of the "solid" subjects have a tough job worthy of an extra stipend. The daily preparations and assessments for the classroom and the field make for a crazy few months. And that, in a nutshell, is one of the major differences between Catholic high school football and public high school football.
Interesting they are not that far off. This is not HF from the 90s.
Worst kept secret over the last few weeks….
The first-year Division Chair for Health, PE & Drivers Ed at Sandburg, Sheamus Murphy, came over from Blue Island Eisenhower after a few seasons of decent results as Head FB Coach there. Maybe he has some candidates in his pipeline.Who's taking over st Sandburg
Almost like there was some sort of organized and deliberate plan for all of this to happen...
Easier as a PE teacher than in any other subject, I would imagineGeez, how does a teacher-head coach navigate staying an entire semester at a school one is leaving to take over elsewhere?
I guess he primary responsibility will be whatever subject he is teaching! Crazy since Coaching isn’t a profession in Illinois. At least that’s what I’m being told.
Yes, his primary responsibility is, and should be, the subject he is teaching. This is high school football in Illinois. It is an extra circular activity and it's coaches are paid as such, not a living wage. This isn't something these men spend 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, 12 months a year focusing on. This isn't college or the NFL like you seem to think it isI guess he primary responsibility will be whatever subject he is teaching! Crazy since Coaching isn’t a profession in Illinois. I never said he do nothing else. He is the AD as well. At one point did I ever say they did nothing else?Maybe ESL pays Sunkett 100k to coach football and do nothing else. He would be the exception in a public school setting.
I never said it was any of those. I said it’s a profession. Kids leave college wanted to be a football coach. They know the requirements like any other profession and they do the necessary things to achieve that goal. Whether you respect it as such is up to you! To make it not a profession because you don’t agree with it or because we live in Illinois is why I responded.Yes, his primary responsibility is, and should be, the subject he is teaching. I’m done with it. Enjoy.
