My impressions of Willis Singleton Jr.: I was able to watch Willis Singleton Jr. live in 2018 in the Blue Devils win over Stevenson along with seeing Willis Singleton jr. live multiple times in the 2018 off season at multiple camps and showcase events. Singleton jr. was an All conference and All Area level player for a very strong Warren Township defense in 2018. Singleton already has a handful of FBS level offers along with recruiting looks and attention from some Power 5 programs this winter. Singleton Jr. is a really well spoken/very respectful young man and an impressive kid on the hoof.
Evaluation of Willis Singleton Jr: Singleton Jr. has a ton of upside and is an impressive inside defensive linemen already and a player who's upside at the high D1 level is evident. Singleton Jr. has a nice combination of size, power speed and quickness for an inside linemen. Singleton also has a pretty strong first step and good overall quickness along with being a pretty agile overall athlete....again Singleton Jr. has a ton of athletic skills and tools here especially for a nearly 300 pound athlete. Singleton Jr. has good overall instincts who seems to be able to track down and make plays both inside and outside when required. Singleton jr. also is advanced when it comes to his overall technique and shows good inside pass rush moves along with being able to shed multiple blockers.
Room for improvement? Singleton Jr. is on par with a very strong group of Power 5 level DT's in the Class of 2020. Singleton Jr. will need to improve his overall speed/quickness and also improve his overall hands and also keep improving upon his overall technique and pass rush skills. Singleton Jr. is not unlike every other high school level defensive linemen in that his overall game is strong for the high school level but he is still a work in progress over the next 8-12 months and will need to improve his overall game.
Projected level: Rivals has Willis Singleton Jr. ranked as a mid 3 star ranked player.
I generally don't completely agree on the Rivals mid 3 star ranking for Willis Singleton jr. and at this early stage I feel that Singleton Jr. is more of a high 3 star to low 4 star ranked name. Singleton jr. has made a ton of progress in his overall game over the past 12 plus months and has developed into one of the state's top overall DT's to watch. Singleton Jr. has good size, good strength along with a ton of upside for the higher college level. Singleton Jr. has work to do including improving his overall speed/quickness and continue to refine his overall technique and linemen skills.
Singleton jr. who was a regular on the camp and showcase circuit last off season will have a chance to really impress and raise his overall stock this coming winter/spring.
Singleton Jr.. I feel has a real chance at raising his early star ranking and could become a low to mid 4 star ranked name in the 2020 class.
