My impressions of Nate Muersch: I have been able to see Nate Muersch in person a few times live at various camps while also seeing Montini play live twice in person in the 2018n season. Muersch is a big, long and lanky kid on the hoof who also played at a high level in 2018 for the Broncos. Muersch is also a personable kid to talk to off the field and is also a strong student in the class room.
Evaluation of Nate Muersch: Muersch was impressive this past fall on several levels. Muersch has good length and reach and was able to basically beat most comers on any sort of jump ball scenario. Muersch also runs good routes, has decent speed and also showed good overall hands this past season. Muersch also runs goof routes, is a fundamentally sound receiver who again has the overall size/length and frame to add more size at the college level. Muersch also showed really good overall ball skills this past season and just seemed to make big plays when needed .
Room for improvement? At least for me Muersch is no question a tweener when it comes to an eventual college position. Muersch as receiver skills hut at 6-foot-5 can he add more weight and bulk and develop into a West Coast type of tight end? Muersch will no question need to work on improving his overall speed and quickness along with improving his overall ball skills and technique...and Muersch will also be well served to learn how to block if colleges want to see him as more of a tight end.
Projected level: Rivals has yet to rank Nate Muersch.
Muersch is another name who I came away really impressed with this past fall in person. Muersch has very good hands and ball skills, knows how to use his reach advantage and was able to out physical and outfight opposing defensive secondary players last season. Muersch will no question need to show college coaches that he has the overall speed to play as either wide receiver and/ore the ability to add more size/bulk and strength to convert to tight end.
Muersch overall game is and abilities are very solid and I feel when it's all said and done he will have a chance to play TE at say the mid FBS level in college if not reaching an even higher level if Muersch can show that he can add more weight and size while maintaining his overall speed and receiver skills.
I would start off Nate Muersch as a low to mid 3 star player from a rankings standpoint, again admittedly a bit conservative in my initial ranking to start. Again justt a lot to like here in my opinion.
