Bears

What? What long passes? Everything has been check downs or short passes. Caleb has one less completion than Stroud but 60 less yard. They aren't calling long passes.
Have you been watching. The sack and scrambles were because all the receivers were covered down field. Pay attention! The last drive they started calling short passes like they did at the start of the game.

Why aren’t they calling any plays for the tight ends especially Cole? Play calling has to improve.

I'll take a double of whatever you're drinking. The last drive they got the PI penalty on a pass down the field. He's been sacked twice and just because the WRs were covered doesn't mean they were meant to be down field passes. They can be well covered on short crossing or out routes too. They definitely are not calling downfield passes right now.

I dont remember problems with the running game last year with Herbert and Johnson.

Maybe give Swift some time off.

They were on both of those plays. The Bears have 18 yards rushing and Caleb has 9 of those yards. Bears need to run the ball.

I like Swift, they just need to stick with it. A good running game wears down the defense and becomes more successful later in the game and those 3 yard runs turn into 8 yard runs.

And that's why they haven't been throwing down field, Caleb hasn't proven he can make the throw. He missed his deep balls last week too.

I dont follow Swift much since he left GA.

The way they ran him in college he already had a lot of mileage on him before coming to the NFL.

Not an issue. Also, the Bears have an exceptional RB room. No need to have one guy carry the load

I still don't get why the running game is null.

Make a change or draw up some running plays for Caleb to run the ball.

There's always the fact that the Texans have a really good defense. It's not like Houston is running the ball successfully either.

Wish these teams were in the same division. It could be a great rivalry

Thought I was watching fight night Blackhawks and Redwings in the 90s there for a minute.

Yeah, not even close. It's been a nice defensive game, but nowhere near a rivalry starting game.

Ok, the Bears are still in it in the 4th quarter. How do they get the win?
I mean, I've said my peace offensively. However, if the plan has been to wear them down or lull them to sleep...stick with the plan. Getting desperate isn't going to help

Why not go downfield on 1st down? These crappy short passes resulting in 2nd and long is getting exhausting already because that's all we saw the last 2 years! LOL.
Hate the play calling too, but at this point, in game 2 of his career, is that Caleb doesn't have the full understanding of how to read a defense or go through his progressions. They're calling plays they think he is comfortable with. If it doesn't get better in the coming weeks then that's a problem.

Bears OL has had two very bad weeks in a row now.
Can't put it all on the OL, Caleb has done them no favors. You can't expect to have forever to throw the ball in the NFL.

The best throw Caleb made tonight was the one that drew the PI penalty. He dropped back, set his feet, and threw. That rarely happened tonight.

Caleb was sacked 5 times, Stroud was sacked 3 times, was the Texans OL bad?

Plus the Bears never fare well on national TV and those god awful orange jersey's aren't a good way to start.

Right on both counts.

My most vivid memories of Ditka are his humiliating defeats by Bill Walsh on Monday Night football.

Re the uniforms: they are a cheap excuse to sell merchandise to people with horrible taste. Another example of McCaskeyism. (Why would anyone invest billions in a project associated with him or that family?

I won't say it but Caleb is getting the blankety blank knocked out of him tonight.

Not necessarily McCaskeyism these days. Every team trots out awful alternate uniforms just for the sake of selling more merch.

No I like to hear other opinions just like yours. My opinion most of the time is very different than the mainstream opinion.
I get it, but I hate all of the talking heads. They're paid to creat controversy. Only one I ever respected was Buffone, because he didn't care and ripped everyone.

I’m sure there are some - otherwise the stat wouldn’t have come up.

The Bears have an elite defense and a HS offensive line
WRs are regularly the highest paid players. The only highly paid OL is gonna be the left tackle so every team in the league is paying their WRs more than their OL.

Stroud was sacked 3 times, is the Texans OL bad? It's not always on the OL. The Bears OL needs work but Caleb isn't helping them at all.

Not sure what game you watched. Look at the last two passing plays and count. On the last sack, he was sacked 7 times and hit another two dozen times. That can’t all be his fault.

They lost this game tonight because there aren’t 5 guys on this roster to form an offensive line and protect your prized asset.

If you think Caleb played poorly. Ok. Explain what he did poorly. Was it throwing in less than 2 seconds? That would be well above average as the league average is 2,45 seconds. Would it be scrambling?

Not sure what you want the kid to do when he has no time to read a defense throw the ball etc.

This was a winnable game against a team many think is a Super Bowl contender.

Like I said they have an elite defense and a less than HS level line.

Caleb got sacked more than Justin did.

DJ looked pretty frustrated late in the game.

Texans are a good team, but that performance from the Bears offense didn’t feel good.
