    Automated Cameras to Stream Games

Its a lot more difficult to find a reliable competent person to operate the camera than you'd think.

    The IHSA Bowl system?

I really like this plan. Some conferences would need 4 weeks as they have more than 8 teams. Remember, Soucie's district idea. Those districts might be good with this plan.

    The IHSA Bowl system?

Looks like SPC is just playing the last 6 weeks of their original schedule. So its Week 1 crossover, Weeks 2-6 division games.

    The IHSA Bowl system?

I counted 6 weekends for games. I think conferences with 12 teams and 2 divisions are basically set. I haven't heard any that aren't doing division games in Week 1-5 and week 6 being a crossover game. The two division winners playing each other for a conference championship. The others playing a...

Thoughts before the big IHSA meeting tomorrow......

First, at this point we have no idea what the IHSA will ultimately decide. Second, basketball did not complete their season.

High School "Club" football teams will be playing in the spring in Illinois

Are there football facilities outside of high schools that could be used? With basketball they are all over the place through private companies. Also, would private universities work? Or would it have to be make shift football fields on private land.

Update from IHSA on low risk sports etc

Basketball is high risk according to the IDPH.They moved it to high risk right before basketball season and the election. It is the only organization to do so. Every association in the United States has it at medium risk. Even the other 3 states not playing right now. Same goes for the rest of...

    Targeting

The targeting rule itself is the right rule and it's what should be the rule. The issue is the penalty/punishment. That was were the overreaction came in when it was first implemented. If it was a 15 yard personal foul and that's it people would have way less of an issue with it. The ejection is...

    Targeting

The rule is fine, the punishment is not. The punishment was an overreaction. The punishment should be 15 yards and a warning. On a second targeting that's when an ejection should happen.

Poll: Odds that we will play IHSA Football this spring?

From basketball people I've talked to they are basically expecting basketball to be a summer sport this season. Normally, they have camps, contact days, summer tournament and summer leagues in June anyways. So for the basketball people it wouldn't be that crazy of an adjustment.

    Insurance Question

Mike, works hard, but he's media so you know which way he leans. That said, generally he isn't completely biased either like the majority of big newspaper writers, but I kinda found this article out of touch. Who's he speaking to with this one? His audience highly made up of players, coaches...

    Insurance Question

I was hopeful for a season but with what's going on now the safe move might be to send all non essential employees home.

    Insurance Question

Events? The guidelines by the IHSA for basketball are basically allowing no or very few fans. 50 people or less well if you have 12-15 players on each team, 3-4 coaches on each team, plus 3 refs, plus 2-4 game workers. You're already at 45, not much left for fans. Its more likely they play...

Thank you IHSA!- Maybe not, JB says bball spring 21

I'm sure some districts like CPS and some suburbs will do whatever JB says. I'm also sure some downstate IL and some suburbs will decide to go ahead with basketball November 16th. Essentially there will be two basketball seasons. Weird play by JB this week. Moving basketball to high risk was a...

    Hoops Starting

Craig Andersen basically said the same thing when this years 4 sport season calendar came out. Very unlikely basketball would start on time. As of right now teams can and are practicing via fall contact days. If nothing changes teams can at least do that until they get a green light to play...

    The new E Learning

You hate to see it come about in this manner, but this has benefited many private schools and its a boost that many of them needed. So many were on the verge of dying out.

Minooka would be in region 2 North-Central with LaSalle,Bureau, Fulton, Henderson, Henry, knox, Livingston, Marshall, McDonough, McLean, Mercer, Peoria, Putnam, rock island, Stark, Tazewell, Warren, Woodford, Kendall and Grundy county schools. All though they have kids from Kendall and Will the...

Soucie back in the lab cooking up stuff...

The guidelines have been set. Unless, IHSA changes course a full playoff is a dream. Everything will be regionalized this school year for sports. Think of Illinois as 10 or 11 mini states.

Soucie back in the lab cooking up stuff...

Soucie always does great work and has some good ideas. I hate to be a bit of a downer, but from what everything I'm hearing postseason play will be regionally based according to the 11 IDPH regions. For example, schools in Will and Kankakee Counties are grouped together and can only play...

Is The BIG10 Coming Back this Fall?

October 10th start day with 10 week season would have end date of December 12th plus Championship Game on December 19th. That would get them done in time with selection committee selecting teams December 20th. If no stoppages. It was so bizarre when they released the schedule with 6 weeks of...
