Loyola v East Side

I didn't see the game, so my perspective is limited. I read a few articles that point to Loyola being smaller and slower than the Flyers. Loyola obviously lost big to a far better team. If you're gonna lose, better to do that against a superior team than an inferior one.

You might note that I was not one who claimed in a pregame post that Loyola would win that game. Neither did I think they would lose. What I did think was that it would be a close game that either team could win. That didn't happen, and it is the only thing that surprised me.

Glenbard West next up for the Ramblers. Win or lose, I think that game will be more indicative of how Loyola will fare for the rest of the year.
Glenbard West isn’t the team we have become accustomed to seeing. This isn’t a game to determine how LA will fair in the playoffs. LWE is licking their chops at pay back. This isn’t the LWE team of years past this team is fast with a QB that can sling it all over the field. Congrats to ESL. The score was a surprise and it sounds like the Flyers are going to be a tough out. That said the Flyers have a tough schedule ahead. I am not sure why Cary Grove keeps getting brought up because every year is a different team. Let’s see who can rise again to the top to make the playoffs then we can pound our chests. 😂

CS8 Predictions-Week 1

Week 2 Matchups

East Division
Chatham (0-1) at Bon Terre North County MO (1-0)
U High (1-0) at Bloomington (1-0)
Cardinal Ritter (1-0) at Rochester (1-0)

West Division
Richmond Burton (1-0) at QND (0-1)
East Peoria (1-0) at Lanphier (0-1)
Mascoutah (0-1) at SHG (0-1)

East vs West
Eisenhower (0-1) at Jacksonville (1-0)
Springfield (1-0) at MacArthur (1-0)
Lincoln (1-0) at Southeast (0-1) (Game at Memorial Stadium Saturday)

U High and Bloomington should be a good "bragging rights" type contest.

Rochester faces a Cardinal Ritter team that thumped a solid Missouri opponent 44-7 in Week 1.

I'm weighing whether QND could upset Richmond Burton, which is a very good program that recently seems to have fallen off just a bit. RB won in Week 1 but only 21-7. QND hung in there for a half against 7A Quincy.

The last time Springfield played at MacArthur in '22 they led throughout only to lose on the game's final play. Both teams won big in Week 1. The winner of this game will have a huge leg up in making the playoffs.

All.... CS8 games from week one. Ratsy

Loyola v East Side

I would love a post tomorrow from any of our resident Loyola guys w/ their perspective on the game. This thread has 90 posts but seems to be radio silence from them. Not a knock.

Naz 37 Kankakee 30 FINAL

Yes maybe he moved around Naz when he got married. He grew up in Glen Ellyn. Once in a while I would see him at the Montini games. He does have some Naz and Montini players that follow him on social media.
He runs like a performance clinic in the area if I recall correctly? My guess is we’ll see him at games around the area supporting the kids he trains. I know he trains several players on Naz.

Naz 37 Kankakee 30 FINAL

Interesting that he’s at a Naz game, maybe he lives in the neighborhood or has ties to someone there.

He single handedly terrorized JCA in a few championship games.

What did we learn week 1!?!?

Good morning. A spicy week 1.

Welcome back to all so let’s get started.

1 - That the MSL East will win a game or two just not week 1 - 0-6.
2 - That the table for Fremd to return to the playoffs is set.
3 - That the best team in the state through week 1 is LWE
4 - That is never thought I would see MC and Loyola lose in the same week.
5 - That we have a week where Maine East has more wins than Maine South.
6 - That, for the most part, defenses were not studly in week 1.
7 - That Morrison got its “welcome to the best small school conference in the state” hallmark card.
8 - That SHG got shut out. That, uh, don’t know if we needed to learn that.
9 - That Oswego is going to be a thing or Neuqua won’t be - disucss
10 - That Naz almost did early 2023 Naz things then realized they are Naz and did 2024 post season Naz things.

Thems my thoughts. Yours are welcomed.
