De La Salle forfeits Friday's game (9/27) to Fenwick

If DLS was in the CPL, they would forfeit this week due to lack of players, then come back next week with 20 new guys, then hang 60 on Naz next week.
For the record, chicago public league teams that lost a 1-0 forfeit game and then played a game the next week have the following records via my counting on ihsa websites
2024/ 2-5 so far this fall, 29 pct win
2023/ 1-8 last season, 11 pct win
2022/ 4-9 two years ago, 30 pct win
Obviously does not include games for teams that forfeited one week and then forfeited again the next week. Nor does it include week 9 forfeit losses as there was no week 10 game for them.
If you said a CPL team forfeited one week and played a chicago Kelly type team the next, I could buy what you wrote.
Using Nazareth academy as the example of a loser is not realistic in this scenario.

What HS team do you root for

Good stuff several years ago on this board when Rita visited Sterling in the playoffs.
If I moved and stayed in Illinois Sterling area would be on my short list as with Morris Illinois area. Playoff football over 50 plus years has taken me all over the state, but those two communities kind of hit a cord with me. Sterling were very friendly hosts. I follow them ever year since we played then.

Mt Carmel has won 15 state championships. Of these, two were at the highest level at that time; twelve were one level down; and one was two levels down. We've lost five state championship games: two at the highest level at that time, and three at one level down. We lost in the semis in 1987 to East St Louis in the highest level. In the seven years from 2006 to 2012, we competed in 8A playoffs.
I've heard it said that if MC wins state this year, they'll be in 8A next year, which should result in some interesting match-ups. MC's record in 8A title games is 1-2.
Wrong thread guys.

When HB took over SL they were on their second decade of being a consistently below average program with little success. He brought them to the State semifinals two years in a row and then the State Quarterfinals. After a bad season in 2019 he was let go. Reasons vary as to why.

Hero to Goat

With that loss to NIU, and then NIU losing to Buffalo should end any talk of ND making the playoffs. Weak schedule and they don't belong.
If they only have one loss they'll be in. When it comes down to it the playoff is about the almighty dollar and ND brings fans wherever they go and with a nationwide fan base they'll tune in from all over the country. Whether they belong or not is irrelevant, their brand brings in money for the CFP that very few others, if any, can.

Let CPS/CPL CO-OP with CCL

Well for starters whatever ccl school adds DLSvis increasing its football enrollment by 700 kids.
That would easily move a ccl team up 2 classes from where it is currently playing.
Not sure how many ccl schools would want to take 10 DLS fb players and 690 non players.
I dont think hes talking about combining the schools. Just allowing a handful of kids from DLS to play football at a ccl school.
