Against Naperville Central, too?

LWE vs. Naper Central prediction... LWE offense is more explosive this year along with an always good defense. The Griffins have not faced a top 20 ROC team this year. Maine South is down a bit this year, Stagg very weak, HF all offense and no defense, Neuqua really down this year, Lockport down, Andrew with a super weak schedule to get to five wins. Naper North the best opponent to date with loads of offensive talent. NC barely got past my Huskies but LWE exploded by us in the 2nd half for the lopsided win. So... IMHO the Redhawk defense will keep things close in the first half, perhaps 14-3 LWE at halftime. Will pull away in the 2nd half with a final score of 28-10. If NC doesn't bring their A game and turns the ball over, I could see 35-10.
The above may be a bit harsh since a road win over at-the-time 5-1 Sandburg is included. Now I know the "bloom has come off the rose" for Sandburg, but they still hold 2 road wins over LWW & LWC who are both 5-3, wins over another 5-3 plus a 4-4, then the 10-pt. loss to Rita. Sandburg at Naperville North this Friday should be an interesting result.

Playoff Bracket Projections- Including projected Week 9 results & regional assigments

Good move for West Aurora to get out of the SPC. They've been beat up the last 4 years in their conference, now they are an undefeated, state ranked, and get a nice seed in the brackets. Kudos to their athletic department for making this move.
I think the SPC was on par with where they should be. They just had crap teams during their tenure there. So let's go back to a weaker conferences until they dominate just to get dragged in the first round.

Personally, I think it's embarrassing.

Playoff Bracket Projections- Including projected Week 9 results & regional assigments

Just disagree with a week 9 projection. Guess we'll find out tomorrow
Just using Massey, which gives Barrington a 56% chance of the W. If Palatine wins, all else equal, you become the 6th seed and play HF. Not sure that is an easier than current projection of playing Huntley (Massey has both teams very even). Good luck & hope we don't play you next year (hoping for a bit easier non-conf schedule in 2025) 🤣

Interesting fact. WHEATON WARRENVILLE SOUTH all time is

interesting fact Wheaton WARRENVILLE South all time is 5-0, vs JCA, 5-0 vs ESL and 1-2 vs MC. ALL games were in the playoffs and or championship games. Not bad for public school team!

At least one of the WWS-JC games was a regular season one. WWS beat JC fairly handily in week 2 of 2008.

Against Naperville Central, too?

LWE vs. Naper Central prediction... here we go. Naperville Central is senior dominated with several three year starters. They are solid on offense but the defense is really good. Best defense that LWE will face during regular season. Two blowout wins against weak opponents and five competitive games (all wins) over decent to above average teams. So... Great prediction! Specials?

Playoff Bracket Projections- Including projected Week 9 results & regional assigments

‘Lake Zurich would make it at 4-5 in 6A & Willowbrook moves up from 6A to 7A’

Interested to know how LZ makes it at (4-5)?

These (see below) are the potential teams ahead of them -based on current playoff points - and LZ isn’t even on this list. They (LZ) currently sit at 41 playoff points and they’ll have to leapfrog 2/3rd’s of these potential qualifiers ahead of them. Won’t happen IMO.

Teams (15 total) stack-ranked by current total points. These would be potential first-in (4-5) qualifiers:

(48) St. Ignatius (3-5)
(47) Chicago Kenwood (3-5)
(47) Chicago Lane (3-5)
(46) Carmel Catholic (3-5)
(46) Wheaton Warrenville South (4-4)
(45) Glenbard West (3-5)
(45) Lockport (3-5)
(44) Chicago Curie (4-4)
(44) Chicago Phillips (3-5)
(44) Chicago Westinghouse (4-4)
(44) Oswego East (4-4)
(43) Chicago Hope Academy (4-4)
(43) Collinsville (4-4)
(43) IC Catholic (4-4)
(43) Plainfield North (4-4)

Can’t predict the exact outcomes of these teams wk9 match-ups, but I’d bet 5-6 listed above ‘get in’, especially before Lake Zurich.
Most of these teams are already projected in my bracket ☝️

Ignatius projected 3-6
Kenwood already in ☝️
Lane already in ☝️
Carmel 3-6
WWS already in ☝️
GBW already in ☝️
Lockport 3-6
Curie already in ☝️
Phillips 3-6
Westinghouse already in ☝️
Oswego East already in ☝️
Hope Academy already in ☝️
Collinsville already in ☝️
Plainfield North already in ☝️

That leaves IC. Yes, I now think they get in over Lake Zurich. I am calculating projected playoff points myself & I don't have records/projections from out of state teams, so IC's St. Louis opponent was not included in my projected playoff points. Including those, they nudge out Lake Zurich. Including out of state opponents is a bit of a mess, but if anyone has a team they hope gets in at 4-5 that played out of state teams, I'm happy to check if that would put them over the top.

MMXXIV Edition - CCL-ESCC Predictions Week IX

Francis games are on NFHS. I watched them on hudl so not 100% sure if you can go back and rewatch Francis’ other games but I did watch their DePaul game on Saturday so hopefully you can. I imagine some of their road games are on YouTube as well.
They usually take down the full game film on Hudl beginning of the next week, DePaul game is still up FYI.

Teams Sandbagging

I was just curious with all of these predictions and such, does anyone think that any teams take this a 100% seriously and will intentionally lose a game for a better matchup? I do not know of anyone that has done this, but was curious what everyone else thought in regards to this?
I don’t know any coaches that will intentionally lose not knowing what the rest of the season will bring!!! IHSA like a box of chocolates) mess around not get in at all.

Kudos to the Marian Catholic Spartans

This could have a big impact on Marian Catholic’s opponents playoff points totals (for both bubble teams and seeding), passing on the forfeit W to instead tussle with Rochelle. A (1) point swing could be significant.

Lots of respect for the Spartans, however, for scheduling a tough opponent!
I hearrd from a reliable source that regardless of the outcome, Marian will still be awarded a forfeit win per IHSA.
Affecting opponents Playoff Points +1
Then play in the Prep Bowl.
Not so sure about the Rochelle side.
