CCL Frosh Soph Scores

When did this change? I thought underclassmen couldn’t play on Varsity in the Catholic League or at least in games vs other Catholic League teams. In fact I recall years ago Gordon Tech I believe was killing Leo in the Prep Bowl playoffs. They wanted to let underclassmen play in the blowout & got an ok from Leo. Next thing they knew they next day they had to forfeit & were pissed off beyond belief

Against Naperville Central, too?

LWE vs. Naper Central prediction... here we go. Naperville Central is senior dominated with several three year starters. They are solid on offense but the defense is really good. Best defense that LWE will face during regular season. Two blowout wins against weak opponents and five competitive games (all wins) over decent to above average teams. LWE offense is more explosive this year along with an always good defense. The Griffins have not faced a top 20 ROC team this year. Maine South is down a bit this year, Stagg very weak, HF all offense and no defense, Neuqua really down this year, Lockport down, Andrew with a super weak schedule to get to five wins. Naper North the best opponent to date with loads of offensive talent. NC barely got past my Huskies but LWE exploded by us in the 2nd half for the lopsided win. So... IMHO the Redhawk defense will keep things close in the first half, perhaps 14-3 LWE at halftime. Will pull away in the 2nd half with a final score of 28-10. If NC doesn't bring their A game and turns the ball over, I could see 35-10.
NNFAN,

Great stuff here.

Friday Night Fire in the STL Metro

Lutheran North brings back memories! The Thomas Rooks , Bobby Joe Edmonds era in The Lou.
We played LN my senior year - they won their third consecutive title then and we whooped 'em 35-0. Jerry Terry was their big D1 back - ended up at Mizzou. Body By Brunswick is what Coach Schott called him - looked like a bowling ball. We had a squat DT play him on the scout team - we beat that poor MF'er to damned near death that week. Both of them, in fact.

Jerry died earlier this year. Rest in peace, Big Man!

Friday Night Fire in the STL Metro

Starting off with IMG at East Side, there is also 7-1 Caholia on the road to 8-0 Sycamore. We got 6-2 Edwardsville against 6-2 DeSmet and also 8-0 Ritter against 7-1 Lutheran North.

If you are coming to the area, maybe consider Thompson's Souled Out Cafe, which is staying open until 6:00 to feed hungry fans. Catfish, two0bone Buffalo and Jack Fish, plus all the sides you could expect!

Open at 11:00 at 7915 State Street East Saint Louis IL - and yes, this is Hickey's place.
