It was 2008 or something like that the last time this happened... before the dynasty began. Let's stop with this cap about Rochester being anything other than the greatest public high school in Illinois football history... bc they are, and remain so after last night. Good on ya, PND. That's a program defining win.

P.s. I'll still take that Rochester -21 line over Breese. 100 out of 100 times.
That logic won’t make much sense when Breese is playing for the championship the day after thanksgiving 😉

Hey cigaros
It’s tough getting bounced from the playoffs. It makes for a long 3 weeks watching what could’ve been. That said it happens. It was tough for me when my younger son’s team lost in the Quarter final. You may have another big loss coming today with the #1 team the Ducks playing your beloved Michigan today. Only bright side is there playing in the big house.
Michigan would be better off with the Rochester Fr QB than the garbage they have playing the position.

New IHSA bylaw proposal seeks to eliminate Prep Bowl

I LOVE the Prep Bowl. The only changes I’d like is for ALL CPS teams to have a shot. Sure they may get blown out but so be it. If we could go back in time & this was actually done in 1979 but would have loved to see some good Joliet Catholic teams 1980 for example & Marian Catholic teams who were in the Illini 8 & then East Suburban Catholic & Independent have a shot at the Prep Bowl

New IHSA bylaw proposal seeks to eliminate Prep Bowl

Im also assuming St Laurence wasn’t multiplied by 1.65 last year also. Also do we know that they were playing underclass men in the prep bowl
Last year BR didn’t play in the Prep Bowl and a bunch of BR/ CCL posters ripped their coaches for not using the Prep Bowl as a way to prepare for 2024. But now this those same posters at the threat of losing it say it’s no advantage. Which is it? Could you guys get your story straight?

Last week there were threads on this board saying the Prep Bowl is great to prepare underclass players for next year. The Sycamore Principal wrote a by law change that matches up with what CCL fans say on here. You can’t have it both ways.

New IHSA bylaw proposal seeks to eliminate Prep Bowl

St Laurence last year went 3-6 in 2022 advanced 2 weeks in the Prep Bowl then lost the State Championship in 2023. They have good chance to advance this year.

I’m sure there are more if I looked.

When was the last time a team competed in the prep bowl and made a deep run in the playoffs the next year.

Bracket Challenge: All Round 1 Friday Night game results have been added in

And in case you are wondering......30 percent of all the Class 4A brackets selected Rochester to win it all. In all honesty.....that's considerably less than I expected.

You can go into the leader boards now for each Class and it should show you updated leader board.....
Edgy: The updated bracket for 5A shows Marion having defeated Highland. I have checked two different sources and both of them indicate Highland won that game.

Don’t go getting all up in your feelings. Your consistent manic depressive cycles are not my problem.

Peoria Notre Dame 59 Rochester 58 … “Houston, we have a problem”

Cahokia is likely to travel to Waterloo next week and I foresee that as a pretty competitive game. Whoever wins that one is my pick to at least reach the semis.
Yea it will be. Waterloo is very well coached and runs a deliberate game, something Cahokia hasn’t seen this year with their schedule. On paper I like the Comanches.
