Peoria Notre Dame 59 Rochester 58 … “Houston, we have a problem”

Here is the cheap shot that broke Mason Jacobs' collar bone.

aside from the announcer and mom calling this a block in the back on a defensive player, since mom is trying to drag a viral hate mob on a 15-18 year old kid (expose the player, her words) for something that happened in the first 2.5 seconds of a contact football play between the whistles, why not consider it from the defensive perspective.

the play in the video is the "modern day triple option", with the three options being: give the zone, qb keep, or qb throw the bubble on the run. It's run here almost exactly as we seen frequently now in the NFL and college. see here for a video of the play going to the third option (the bubble). the play is intended to cause the olb to bite either on the zone or qb run, opening up a lane for the bubble option, a lane which you can see at :08 timestamp.

The qb and two receivers are playing out the second and third option. i see #2 blocking #22, and in #22s line of sight until tenths of a second before the collision. you can see rockets #2 with his hands still on #22 with :08 timestamp, and the contact occurs within the :08 timestamp, the same second.

when the rockets were prepping for PND, who seems to run mostly old school triple option variation, do you think they were teaching the players to tackle their responsibility (dive qb pitch) on every play, rather than trying to figure out who had the ball? that's the way everyone i've ever heard of teaches to play triple option. every play, get the dive, the qb, and the pitch on the ground. was rochester not tackling the dive back when he didn't have the ball? again, less than 1 second elapses between the corner escaping the block and the hit.

North Suburban

The NSC goes 4-0 opening weekend.

Lake Forest and Libertyville are going to meet in the playoffs for the first time (LVille has typically been one class larger). Great rivalry, the last 30 meetings it's 15-15 a piece.
And the Libertyville quarterback only 10 TD passes away from tying the state record of Jon Beutjer who threw 60 in a 14 game season. I will be there

Let's talk 6a bracket.

What is fun about playing CG. You might not score a point against them and if you do, it will be after they put their 2s in. Another good season for Antioch, but no match for the top teams in the state.
My friend, you said the below earlier in this thread….⬇️⬇️⬇️

You are talking about 3 schools that have enrollments under 800 without the multiplier. JCA (585) STF (685) Naz (715). You want them in 6A because they WIN? What about Rochester (754) who has won about 9 state titles the past 11 or 12 years in 4A. Why don't they move up to get challenged. There is no good system, but just cause teams are private doesn't mean that they should get penalized for winning. This should happen to all schools, regardless. CPS for basketball can play for any school in the city....is that fair??? Life is not fair, get better!!!

The fighting pebbles moved up without winning. That’s the real sign of a legit program.

Next week they will get to show what they’re made of for the whole state to see.

To be the best, you gotta play the best.

Prospect 56 Hersey 13 F

hersey turned out to be the team that never was. Thought with the UCLA kid they would’ve done more.
The Hersey kid will never play a down of football, at least meaningful football at UCLA. His father, the hype machine had way more influence on this than you people know. Why no mention by Quags in the Daily Herald of him throwing five interceptions and losing a fumble in this game? Very interesting. He looked like a world beater when he had D1 studs all around him last year but unfortunately you guys overrated them just because of what they've done in the past and the weak schedules they played for previous few years The loss of Farrell this year in the summer and the baseball kid Meister who was a two-way starter for them as a junior not playing to focus on baseball was way bigger than Coach Nelson will ever admit. For the record I am a Hersey alum.

4A predictions

Hey cigaros
It’s tough getting bounced from the playoffs. It makes for a long 3 weeks watching what could’ve been. That said it happens. It was tough for me when my younger son’s team lost in the Quarter final. You may have another big loss coming today with the #1 team the Ducks playing your beloved Michigan today. Only bright side is there playing in the big house.
Yep, gonna be a weekend which makes the heart go through some palpitations. Especially as the lions face Green Bay. I have no delusions of grandeur that Michigan comes out of this game with a victory.

WARREN 31, PALATINE 24 —- FINAL

I think Barrington takes them. By a few scores. That was a great 5-4 team but injuries hurt palatine. This one hurts.
Heck Warren is missing a lot of key players. Mac makes no excuses. Warren is top 8A team. Everyone forgot Barrington took Warren off their out of conference schedule. It's not a given Barrington beats Warren. Buckle up you know what's coning. Go Warren ! 🎢

CG 30 Senn 0 4:31 left 1st Q

I’d never seen a CG score like that but also don’t think they went out of their way to rub it in. A lot of underclassmen had an opportunity to play by the second quarter and they’re gonna play. One score was a freshman and it was probably huge for him. It’s unfortunate for the Senn team to experience that and a crappy bus ride home.
I heard coach Ludwig(CG coach and ad)bought the whole senn team pizza after the game

Sorry boys it was a joke! About 15 years ago on this site, people would say that Maine South needs to take a knee! It’s the playoffs, fair game! Good luck to CG!
