ICE Playoffs Round 2

Eureka vs. Wilmington - the Hornets are playing some good ball right now and their only hiccup was against a very good Tri Valley team. Eureka is a spread team but not a finesse type spread team, they prefer running the ball and do so out of multiple formations. They had to play all of their cards last week against a formidable Peotone team and were on the lucky side of the turnover game which resulted in them winning. Eureka's biggest struggle this year has been on the defensive side of the ball. They have 3 shutouts, EP 14-0, Dee Mac 47-0, and Tremont 48-0, but none of those teams are great offensively. Wilmington grounds and pounds and beats teams into submission, exactly what they did to Stillman Valley next week. Should be a good and physical game but Wilmington prevails in the end. Wilmington 34 Eureka 16

Coal City vs. Boylan - I know nothing of Boylan but CC being a physical team probably does not bode well for Boylan. They play bigger schools but I would say the top tier ICE teams would probably do pretty well in the conference. Coal City has a good RB and their defense is always tough. Coal City 28 Boylan 12

SHG VS JCA ON RADIO

IF YOU CAN'T ATTEND THE GAME ON SATURDAY, AND NFHS ISN'T WORKING, YOU CAN LISTEN TO THE GAME @ neuhoffmediaspringfield.com - COVERAGE STARTS @ 1:30

(SPRINGFIELD 1450 SPORTS RADIO)
Do you happens to know:
- if SHG typically does their own video broadcast (AKA YouTube, HUDL, etc.)?
- or if they have a NFHS camera for the broadcast? (not preferred)

For example: last week's JCA home game was on NFHS but the video & broadcast was done by the normal JCA broadcast team and then fed to NFHS, however that works. But the end result was a high quality stream of the game.

MMXXIV Edition - CCL-ESCC Predictions Week XI

Prep Bowl Playoffs:

Carmel 27 Marian 7 (+25):
There will be absolutely 0 juice for this game. Carmel is bitterly disappointed and Heights has to take a stupid long drive.
Not just long - more like eternal. About 25 years ago, my plumber was the volunteer videographer for the Corsairs. He hated driving to thr far south suburbs - especially on a Friday, He had to take a full day's vacation.

Mount Carmel 38 (-21) Saint Charles North 14: Very nice season for SCN, but like many nice seasons in the past for many squads, they die at the hands of the Caravan.

Marist 24 (+6) Loyola 23: GOTW! This has the makings to be a classic. Both teams are playing very well and both have done essentially the same against common opponents. I'm taking the RedHawks in a thriller that comes down to the wire!

Saint Rita 37 (-21) Willowbrook 6: This is just a bad matchup for Willowbrook. Ponies march on without much effort

Nazareth 56 Woodstock North 7 (-59): Great season Thunder! Don't let this thrashing that Naz will deliver take anything away from it.

Saint Francis 34 Prairie Ridge 13 (+23): Samson Evans is not walking through the tunnel to save PR.

Joliet Catholic 42 (-34) @ Sacred Heart Griffin 7: Don't look now, but JCA has a very favorable path to BloNo.

DePaul 36 Geneseo 24 (+23): I think Geneseo will keep things kind of interesting early, but DePaul's skill players will slowly exert their will

Rochelle 38 Benet 34 (+14): Rochelle finally takes on a CCL team with real firepower. The Hubs hang on, but it will be a battle to the bitter end

Saint Laurence 31 (-2) Wheaton Academy 26: Another excellent matchup here. Larry's seems to be healthy and I have to stand by my word in that I believe that they will be around a few weeks into November.

Montini 33 (-1) Byron 29: Oh baby! This game has been spoken into existence! I am so excited for the debates about public vs. private and the multiplier discussions after this game!

Downers Grove North 37 Fenwick 24 (+18): Fenwick will not be startled in the slightest by DGN, but DGN has played at a level that has just been the next tier above Fenwick. I do think the Friars keep it in striking distance headed into the 4th.

Morgan Park at Metamora

Since the transferring got out of control the CPS Hoops domination has gone from numerous strong teams to 3 or 4 that seem to exchange power. Simeon is consistent but we'll see how Flowers holds as HC. Curie would be next with recent consistency and Kenwood kinda took over for Morgan Park but their coach recently resigned so we'll see how that translates
Whitney young, Curie, Simeon consistent. Kenwood underclass stars that remain will hit the portal next season depending on the permanent coach. AAU connections rule the hiring process.

Morgan Park at Metamora

I've seen MP play several times this year their strategy is to play 7 on 7 in pads IMO:rolleyes:. CPL wasn't as competitive this year so them being tested since Marist hasn't happen. Last week seeing Tinley Park didn't show much besides if your team eats the clock they also need to be able to score the ball.
I'm taking the drive to Metamora, But will this be a ball game or should i just look for a place to eat after the game ?
Only an observation, not a judgment, but more schools use this strategy, especially with a mobile QB. This may include throwing out of one's own end zone and in short-yardage situations. They bring their summer 7-on-7 offense into the regular season adding a small number of runs (a couple each from 1 or 2-back sets) from which flow side or misdirection pass can be called. Weather trends in recent years provide compatible conditions more often than not, particularly early in the schedule and even beyond. "When ya' throw, ya' go!!??"
